To commemorate the 5 year anniversary of the passing of the ISL Act 2017, National Irish Sign Language Day is held on 14 December. Join in and celebrate with us. I was proud to be a small part of a steering group involved in pushing for this legislation. @tcddublin @IrishDeafSoc

This is not good enough. “Unaware” really is “we couldn’t be bothered”. All public services need to re-examine budgeting for accessibility of a project/event/campaign - accessibility (i.e ISL interpretation) can’t be an afterthought. @irishexaminer irishexaminer.com/news/arid-…

I’m thrilled and buzzing with energy after the #masterclass from @designsproject. My PhD topic, of which I wasn’t too certain this week, is basically validated during the summary of today. Now the only thing I have to do is actually write the thesis. Minor detail. #designsproject

Employers mention that it’s difficult to listen to the same interpreter who is interpreting several deaf applicants - personal traits in translation into English are important to keep it ‘easy on the ears’. @designsproject #designsproject

Interpreters have to agree to assignments based on limited information and sometimes have to pull out if necessary information is not provided; they have to be allowed to do the best job they can. @designsproject #designsproject
