In the 1980s, the 0.001% wealthiest families living in the UK — roughly 200 families — owned wealth equivalent to 5% of UK GDP.
Today: 20% of GDP.
If they spent all their wealth, these 200 families could buy ~1/5 of all the goods & services produced in a given year in the UK.

If you can’t tax billionaires and trillionaire because “its unrealized gains until they cash out,” then stop letting them leverage that wealth for loans, as collateral, or as equity.
If it’s not real enough to tax, it shouldn’t be real enough to leverage.
This is why we say the system is rigged in favor of the super wealthy. Abolish billionaires, tax them out of existence, protect working people.

Today, Elon Musk, a trillionaire, pays the same amount into Social Security as someone making $184,500.
If we end that absurdity and lift the cap on taxable income, we can make Social Security solvent for 75 years and expand benefits by $2,400. My Social Security bill does that.

Yikes! The Millstone-2 #nuclear reactor in #Connecticut was manually scrammed yesterday after a control element assembly dropped to the bottom of the core. The reactor had been shut down since June 5 because of ... you guessed it ... a misaligned control element assembly.
