Honored to be part for the prestigious USA๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) @StateIVLP on "Advancing an Open and Secure Digital Economy" following my nomination by the @USEmbassyUganda Day 1 in Washington, D.C. offered a meaningful introduction not just to the capital, but to the values, history, and global leadership it represents. From iconic landmarks to powerful institutions, it set the tone for what promises to be a transformative journey of learning, exchange, and connection. I look forward to engaging, learning and sharing insights along the way, and ultimately translating these experiences into meaningful impact back home in Uganda ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฌ @IVLPUganda #IVLP #GlobalLeadership #DigitizeUG

Growth was possible for us, it's the same we are using for communities. While at University, we were part of a program where we were given the challenge of starting a business with only Shs 5,000. I asked my twin sister which business idea we could venture into and she suggested that we start making paper bags. So we decided to make the paper bags and during the COVID-19 lockdown, we learnt how to fold the paper bags, improved our speed, learnt costings and did marketing. Our first clients were restaurants mainly and gift shops. Five years down the road, we are still serving and bettering our packaging and branding for clients. We make customized paper bags for businesses like kaki bags and art board bags for restaurants, boutiques, banks, hardware stores, and schools. We now also do gift wrapping and customized gift bags for Kwanjula and Kukyala, eco green chubby totes for boutiques, home use or personal use. We train youths and women in churches and communities how to make paper bags. I got more customers from AWE and linkages to other markets. Networking, power of collaboration and partnerships, applying for Grants." #AWEnergized #AWECohort7 #AWEinUganda #Uganda #WomenInBusiness
