In the summer of 1980, this crew celebrated completion of pressure tube installation on Pickering Unit 5.
In December it reached 40 years of safe operation running on those tubes, due to be replaced in the next 10 years.

Two Belgian reactors confirmed for another 10 years!
After months of negotiations, an agreement was successfully reached between the Belgian government & ENGIE.
Doel 4 & Tigange 3 were planned for shutdown in November 2025, but now they’re being prepared to extend operations!

Variable Renewable Energy (VRE) has a low Carbon Intensity Per KW-hour (CIPK) but that variable energy is balanced by high-emitting dispatchable sources. That means that VRE actually adds more CO2 to the air per unit of energy generated.
