IMAGE: Ten-second epochs from routine electroencephalograms illustrating examples for each abnormal category. (A) Focal epileptiform. Left temporal spikes in a 41-year-old patient with left temporal lobe epilepsy are shown. (B) Generalized epileptiform. Bilateral synchronous and symmetric spike-and-slow waves in a 19-year-old patient with idiopathic generalized epilepsy are shown. (C) Focal nonepileptiform. Continuous left hemisphere slowing in a 60-year-old patient with a remote left middle cerebral artery stroke is shown. (D) Diffuse nonepileptiform. Continuous background slowing in a 58-year-old patient with post-liver transplant metabolic encephalopathy is shown. High-pass fi
An #AI model for automated interpretation of routine #EEG is generalizable across different populations, equipment & recording settings. In this external validation study, SCORE-AI had accuracy equal to experts.

Key point: Pulsatile corticoid therapy did not only lead to a reduction of the interictal epileptic activity burden but also increase in sleep spindles important for cognitive functioning

[Epilepsy] Abdallah et al.: The most prevalent seizure-onset patterns are low frequency periodic spikes (LFPS) and low-voltage fast activity (LVFA). LFPS had the most divergent terminology, whereas LVFA had the most reproducible terminology.

It has been a pleasure giving a talk on Ictal EEG Source Imaging at the #acns2024 in Orlando, together with Birgit Frauscher, Prachi Parikh and Daniel Mansilla.
And a nice, early morning run :)

The Anphy lab is having a great time at #AES2023 so far! Just a reminder that we are hiring for PhD and MD positions, so please stop by and approach us with any questions or if you would just like to chat! posters: 3.156 and 3.160
Excited to share out latest SEEG study, accepted in @ANA_journals, uncovering important insights into the impact of sleep on ictal and interictal epileptic activity 🌙🧠 Stay tuned for the full text, coming soon!
