one correction. it should be 330 less words per day resulting in 1.2 lakhs words per year.
research shows that we are speaking less and hence losing out on the human factor.from 2005 to 2019,average number of words spoken per day has fallen from 16600 to 12000.a fall of 28% over 14 years .that’s 330 less words per year leading to 1.20 lakhs words in a year. has fallen across all ages but more steeply for persons less than 25 years of age.a sign of increasing social isolation, preference to text than speak aided by the contactless nature of digital economy. @EduMinOfIndia @TIME

There is a class of “global health” people who warmed to (even sought to lead) discussions on “decolonisation” when it began to catch fire in the field, but who has over time come to see that they are the people, their interests are the interests, and their practices are the practices, from which the field would need to be, is being called to be decolonised. It’s been fascinating to watch their retreat, even antagonism.

India has made real progress in maternal health, but there’s a worrying trend; C-section deliveries are rising far beyond recommended levels, driven by money, social preferences, & fear of risk. What’s missing is well-trained midwives who can support safe, natural childbirth.
