I can see arguments for this. But, respectfully:
1. As real content leaves, the “enshittification” here will accelerate. Eventually the trolls will just be trolling each other.
2. The algorithm stifles most good content here. My somewhat smaller audience at 🟦 is more engaged.
I believe the scientific community abandoning Twitter is a mistake. I understand this is not a place for much good faith dialogue, but it’s a highly used public platform and leaving it to armies of paid disinformation actors, frauds, and armies of trolls to fill in information space is not strategic. The alternative platforms might be nice for internal discussions on niche issues, but they are not compelling as highly viewed sources.
