There are going to be record numbers without statements sadly this year. It’s one of the most basic and statutory duties of a pension scheme to produce an annual benefit statement. For many it’s there most important asset. No TRS = not acceptable
Mine is there, but yet again all the pensions section is blank. NHSBSA says due to missing information from my employer. My employer says information submitted (year after year). I’m left stuck in the middle, usually on hold for an eternity, with no info.
Now that the dust has settled and things have calmed down a bit, I do want to say a few things about my post the other day and what impelled me to write it.
As we all have, I have been following the case in France with horror verging on incredulity at what this man and all 1/
The response to this poem across all platforms has blown me away.
Thank you to everyone for sharing and for your kind words. The fact it has resonated with so many people is incredibly moving.
So much love ❤️❤️❤️
The horrifying reality of being a woman, perfectly summarised by @_CaitlinORyan
If you give even the slightest shit about women, watch it all. This is what it’s like.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: many senior doctors desperate to help waiting lists & would be willing to give up evenings/weekends to help out.
But current tax rules will mean some could end up #PayingToWork 👇
RT if you want @wesstreeting@jamesmurray_ldn to fix this ludicrous tax trap
Trying to connect to @wifinityuk WiFi on a @Parkdeanresorts site is the most unnecessarily difficult, convoluted and user unfriendly thing (and then unreliable connection once you manage it). And I say that as someone who has endured NHS IT for over twenty years.
Is this where clinical leadership in NHS goes awry? Because those leaders are still expected to do the work themselves, and somehow fit in the daily work of leadership in the same time? Magic time.
The normal daily work of a leader is developing their team and organizing work to get things done. Since leaders do not do the work themselves, the “daily work” is meeting with others.
Some amusing lols/memes/eye rolls regarding the STEC (E Coli) outbreak, particularly from medics.
A reminder that public health communication is not just a service for doctors but the general public and the message is to wash your fruit & veg and clean hands/surfaces.
Biggest scam we’ve been sold is working 48 hour weeks when every other average working week is 37.5 hours.
We should be paid bonus rates for those extra 10.5 hours each and every week. I’m deadly serious.

Got my 80% 'less than full time' rota through for my first doctor job and it blows my mind that I'm still working on average 38 hours, with some weeks over 48 🤯🤯🤯 #medtwitter 🫠
Oh, I see we’re revisiting the old classics.🙄
“Let’s cut down on managers in the NHS”
Why is this such a popular attack line?
Just the smallest amount of critical thinking will show what a nonsensical idea this is….
A little🧵 for you!

I was a doctor.
I lived and breathed medicine.
Then burnout & mental illness happened.
Upset & angry, I left medicine.
If you care about the #NHS,
And you plan to vote in the #GeneralElection
You NEED to know these 3 things.. 🧵
One of the greatest frauds perpetrated by the NHS is getting away with calling a 48-hour working week “full time” and a normal 40-hour week “less than full time”
Could we have a National Covid Clean-Up Day, where we all take 10 minutes to make an effort to remove all the signs and visual clutter that was thrown up in haste in those dark days?
This is a thread of my all-time favourite literal translations, starting with this one…
In Hungarian, the word for a shark, hiszékeny, translates literally to “sea bastard”
