Tonight we are launching ten satellites, named after 10 outstanding women in STEM. In preparation for launch: meet the ladies, and take some time to learn about their lives and accomplishments.
Tonight we'll place them among the stars. I think Vera would have liked that :)

On April 5, 1984, @Cal students Stephen Schoettler and Barrett Davis put a Mickey Mouse face and hands on the south side of the Campanile. One fell 40 feet to the ground in the process, fortunately suffering relatively minor injuries.
