I honestly don’t understand how *anyone* is ok with politicians writing messages on bombs that will fall on children. Fuck you @Mike_Pence, and fuck everyone who thinks this is acceptable behaviour. You’re all fucking sick in the head.

How much 💔can one person endure? The international community MUST do better. The hostages need to be released & the bombing needs to stop. Every day countless lives are lost or forever shattered We say we will learn from the past, but we don't seem to aljazeera.com/news/2023/11/1…
Bidding farewell to his third child in around two months.. Aljazeera correspondent Wael al-Dahdouh lost his eldest son Hamza in an Israeli airstrike today. In October, he lost his wife and 2 other children in the ongoing Israeli attacks.

Well Done to Nikesh Jathanna for being shortlisted as Young Investigator @heartrhythmcong 2023. Strong work presenting our NUH AI biventricular scar model amongst excellent contenders from KCL and Imperial College. Delighted to have had the opportunity to present our work!

There's no such thing as "non- medical consultants" delivering acute stroke care they're either medically qualified ( a medical degree and CCT in stroke medicine - 10 yrs training post qualification) or a danger to patients. Leave Cosplaying to cartoon characters / superheroes, not patients.
Sent to me, the answer to uncompetitive pay is not to recruit ‘non medical consultants’, it’s to pay fairly and competitively. If we allow this these people will eat our lunch (and breakfast and dinner). Join the BMA take action to defend pay.

I hope people’s takeaway message from recent medtwitter stories about mistakes, shortening medical school, and overall expertise is that medicine is quite difficult, actually. And we all should be campaigning for maximising training, not seeking the minimal viable product model.

Celebrating a huge milestone of treating 1000 patients with minimalist transcatheter aortic valve intervention (TAVI) at NUH. Lifesaving treatment for patients with aortic stenosis. Amazing team work making difference to patients and their families.

We live in hope @wesstreeting Tax me on money I have earned, not on a theoretical value of something 20yrs from now which I may never see, Focus on retention, not recruitment, Remember your wisdoms when power calls … so many appear to develop amnesia at the vital moment!
1/ Thank you once again to @wesstreeting today in the House of Commons "It's also absurd .. we still have doctors retiring early for no other reason than the pension rules create an active financial disincentive for them to work" Watch the clip in full & RT

2/ Grant an immediate exemption for doctors to public sector pension rules which are currently forcing them to retire in their fifties in alarming numbers.

This programme has been rejected by consultants committee and BMA council. It still rumbles on. If you want medicine more accessible then sort out finance properly for students, not make people be HCAs with a hope they'll be 'GPs in poor areas' due to gratitude. Stop the scheme.
Funding for up to 200 Medical Doctor Degree Apprentices, has been confirmed as part of a pilot scheme, making careers in medicine more accessible and helping to boost the number of NHS doctors. For more information visit: orlo.uk/eZJ6W @DHSCgovuk @educationgovuk

But then I thought about it... Water is actually inorganic, because it doesn't have carbon. Just O and H. So maybe this is a euphemism for "contaminated with faeces"?
