This is not basic pay. It includes compulsory overtime pay - nights, weekends & bank holidays, not to mention a 48hr working week.
This, in other words, is an official civil service account - supposedly impartial & accurate - parroting blatantly misleading government spin.

The BMA has demanded a 35% pay rise for junior doctors.
Here's their current average pay rates at different levels.

Me and colleagues working in @BSUHgas 3 years ago this week. Long shifts spent in very challenging conditions saving lives. No parties were had at any point, same as all other NHS staff.
