“Sorry I’ve been so busy,” my wife said to our kids. And our 9-year-old, Bekam, replied: “It’s okay, Mom, as far as you’re doing something good for the world.” 💙 Moments like this remind us why we keep going. Huge thanks to @PiedmontHealth for the beautiful Shaheen Auditorium, the Georgia chapter organizers, and our amazing sponsors for an inspiring night with the Ethiopian diaspora in Atlanta. When we said we’re not just launching a mission but a transcontinental cardiovascular movement—we meant it. 🌍❤️ More powerful nights ahead in Oregon, New Jersey, Minnesota, and Washington. Stories, auctions, raffles, and a shared purpose. Proud to be a small part of this big, beautiful wave ✊🏾 @HeartAEthiopia @MekdesDaba @dereje_dugumaMD @mmamas1973 @DrTedros @DrSenait @flyethiopian @FMoHealth

During our medical team’s first day working at the Cardiac Centre in Ethiopia this past August, we were alerted to a father of three suffering a heart attack that culminated in a cardiac arrest at a nearby hospital. While their doctors were able to revive the man, they had no setup readily available to perform the life-saving procedure he needed in a timely manner. That’s when our founder, Dr. Tesfaye Telila (@TTelila), a @PiedmontHealth interventional cardiologist, raced into action with our team. This video uncovers the heroic actions that followed. Heart Attack Ethiopia is grateful to the generous donation of medical supplies from @Medtronic that were used to save this young man’s life. As a volunteer for @HeartAEthiopia , you don’t just work hard for 14 hours a day; you also get to experience and practice the loving and sharing culture of one of the oldest nations in the world, #Ethiopia. 🎯 One of the most heartwarming traditions is Gursha, where people show their love, respect, and care by placing food in your mouth with their hand! Though a little modified to forks for us, the spirit of sharing and connection remains just as powerful. 🌍❤️ #Gursha #CultureOfSharing #VolunteeringInEthiopia @tachristensen @mmamas1973 @YetenaW @drmerid @HeartAEthiopia To volunteer or support our next adventure please visit our website heartattackethiopia.org

An amazing day 1: long day. Start time 7am and ended at 9pm. Although we had 9 procedures scheduled, we ended up doing 11 cases total (2 surgical 9 cath/PCIs). 🎯 The list includes an incredible 40 year old taxi driver who had a cardiac arrest (Vfib) at Black lion university hospital with ROSC—100% LAD, C-Shock. Guess what?!, he is still alive and his LAD is open—thanks to the team at @HeartAEthiopia and the amazing team at the cardiac center Ethiopia. Together, we can indeed move mountains! 🎯 Tomorrow will be the same schedule BUT only if the #Ethiopian customs releases our aircargo supplies that have been held hostage since our arrival —please help us help your people! Please and thank you 🙏 —these are donated products and we need them and we need them NOW! @FMoHealth @PMEthiopia @MekdesDaba @flyethiopian @AdanechAbiebie
