This is thoughtful and prudent but also fits into the standard playbook of the dominant player asking for regulation and slower pace of innovation. Competitors trying to catch up wonβt be as cautious, and regulation (if it happens) will only slow pace in some countries.

Important to note though that equity doesn't change with location (within the US) so that means for many higher-level roles the majority of total comp is already location independent.
