For more than a century, one of Washington's best-kept secrets lay beneath the Lincoln Memorial: the Undercroft, a soaring 50,000-square-foot foundation built to keep the landmark from sinking into D.C.'s swampy ground.
Beginning in June, the public will be able to visit the space, now with a museum tracing the memorial's history, from its construction to its role as a powerful stage for the civil rights movement. cbsn.ws/4vief5h
We bought this sign at an antique store in Temecula. Now thinking itβs not so much an antique but from the set of a film/tv/theatrical production. Any thoughts?
Oh man. This may be the funniest, most brilliantly written "@CBSSunday Morning" story ever (and no, not one of mine π). Itβs about the hilarious battle among North Dakota towns for the claim to be the exact center of North America. Gets better and better. youtube.com/watch?v=s6L9xbenβ¦
MUST-WATCH: I spoke with Ted Koppel for tomorrow's @CBSSunday (5/16) about our defense of Black life, death threats & the legalized genocide of Black people. cbsnews.com/news/attorney-beβ¦
Ahead on #CBSSunday
Lee Cowan journeys to an isolated town that helped protect its community from the spread of COVID-19, but restrictions at the border have effectively trapped residents there, and kept visitors out cbsn.ws/3kQCR20
Martha Teichner isnβt just a colleague. Sheβs a role model for all of us at @CBSSunday. For over 40 years sheβs told other peopleβs stories, from all over the world (including war zones). Now sheβs telling her own story and itβs as poignant, vivid and compelling as youβd expect.
In her new book, correspondent Martha Teichner writes of the remarkable bonds formed when she sought a companion for her dog, in an only-in-New York story of serendipity, friendship and loss cbsn.ws/3tcZ524
Please remember that you're watching this unfold because brave reporters spent today in danger at the Capitol complex, making sure the public knows what's happening.
Thank you @newsemmys Credit to friend and mentor Ted Koppel who first suggested we look into an unusual lawsuit b/w Oberlin College and a local bakery.
Since there's so much in the news, right now, and people seem to really care, right now, and it feels so important, right now, here's a note for later: 100 million Americans didn't vote in 2016. Don't be one of them in 2020.
Proud of something in my hometown, featured on CBS Sunday Morning today, Community Renewal International. Doing great work β> cbsnews.com/news/rebuilding-β¦
