Even as Tanner Martin faced cancer that would cut his young adulthood short, he and his wife lived life with joy. Read this piece by @arianaeunjung @jaheezus @dtkeating and @DreaCornejo now that Shay, their baby girl, and other family members must move on. washingtonpost.com/health/20…

One of Trump’s IG picks is a former GOP Rep. accused of putting his mistress fiancée’s daughter on the payroll. Another is a GOP lawyer once accused of mishandling taxpayers’ $. A 3rd advised the secretary she’d be a watchdog of. Past IGs have concerns. washingtonpost.com/politics/…

No. No county has voted for the losing candidate in the last seven presidential elections. Nor the last six. Nor the last five. Now I thought my calculations were wrong, so I calculated it a different way. Still none for the last five or the last four. ...

And no county voted for the losing candidate the last three elections. None for -- and I could not believe this -- none for two losers in a row! Then it hit me -- not a single county voted for Trump in 2020 and then Harris in 2024. Not a single one. So no streak of 2 losers.

So many smart stories in @washingtonpost today about the historic Harris-Trump debate last night. One feature you may enjoy as much as I did as a reader -- a graphic illustration and chat focused on The Deciders. The reaction from voters who haven't entirely decided on their candidate yet. via @AdrianBlancoR @erxclau @sfcpoll @EmGusk @dtkeating washingtonpost.com/elections…

Looking back on the year, my favorite story (really of my career) is this gem with @ddiamond @dtkeating -- a good day to give it a read if you haven't! x.com/LaurenWeberHP/status/1…

Seat belts. Cigarette taxes. Public health investment. Some lawmakers chose to back these policies. Others don’t. Those choices along red and blue lines are shaving years off American lives. w/ @ddiamond @dtkeating washingtonpost.com/health/in…
