Congratulations to @BellaverBruna for receiving the Publication of the Year Award from the Biofluid Based Biomarkers @ISTAART Professional Interest Area at PIA day, for her recent paper in Nature Medicine! #AAIC24
šØONLINE NOW! In our new article led by @BellaverBruna and #DeBastiani published in @iScience_CP, we took advantage of comparative medicine tools to investigate molecular core similarities and differences among AD mouse models and EOAD and LOAD individuals tinyurl.com/3fj8b8tb

Congrats to our PhD student @jpfsouza33 for receiving the Prof. Gilberto Schwartsmann Award for publishing the best paper in 2022-23 (rdcu.be/dhOJk) among the medical students at @ufrgsnoticias! Huge team effort led by JoĆ£o together with @LabPascoal & @zimmerneurolab š
We are happy that @dtleffa's work linking ADHD with Alzheimer's is being featured in numerous TV broadcasts across the country, reaching millions of Americans wgem.com/2023/07/24/brain-coā¦
We thank the @alzassociation and are very proud of our postdocs @gbnegrini and @SarahAbbas52 awarded with the AA Research and Clinical fellowships, respectively. They will address important gaps in tau PET harmonization and the use of inflammation biomarkers in trials. Congrats!!
During the coffe break donāt miss the opportunity to check the beautiful poster of @FrancieliRohden where she evaluated the association between astrocyte reactivity and synaptic distinction!! #AAIC2023@alzassociation
Fantastic presentation by @dtleffa where she showed that the individuals with ADHD and cognitive impairment may have a more severe disease phenotype. #AAIC2023
By assessing more than 1,000 CU participants, we observed that plasma p-tau181 increases as a function of Aβ only in individuals that present positive astrocyte reactivity biomarker signature (Ast ). The presence of both A /Ast showed a large magnitude of effect on p-tau levels.
Our latest work is out in @ScienceAdvancesšØ! Using multiple PET radiotracers, we found clinical evidence that APOEε4 contributes to microglial activation in early Braak regions, which is further associated with AD progression š§ . Link: science.org/doi/10.1126/sciaā¦
This morning @BellaverBruna presented her results on how kidney function impacts plasma p-tau levels, mainly in cognitively unimpaired individuals. If you missed it, her presentation is also available on-demand! @adpdnet#ADPD2023#adpd23
