Tory MPs are getting a bit tetchy about people sharing this @SkyNews interview with @RishiSunak. 👇
Come on @RishiSunak you need to answer this?

📺 Tune into @BBCNews Look East at 6.30pm today and @itvanglia later this week to hear mum Penny talking about the importance of a new paediatric palliative care service. The service, called RAaFT (regional advice and facilitation team), launched today at #Addenbrookes.

Human beings can be made to get used to almost anything. We are a very adaptable species and we have short memories for pain, useful traits in the deep Palaeolithic no doubt. Less so now, perhaps, as they mean we can be manipulated to near ludicrous extremes.
I keep thinking about this headline. In May 2020 100,000 deaths was an incalculable loss. Yet we have now lost nearly 400,000 people to COVID in the US over the last year (Sep 2021 to Sep 2022), & "the pandemic is over." This is what the normalization of mass death looks like.

It is embarrassing and pathetic that a candidate to be the next leader of a major party and PM does not know this.

Just a quick reminder that "has peaked" doesn't mean "is now over". It means "at the highest level yet but finally starting to come back down". Lots of people getting sick on both sides of the curve.

You might want to remember this Rishi Sunak before you boast about preventing public health measures.
Johnson was set to lockdown in mid-September until Sunak invited lockdown sceptic scientists Gupta and Heneghan to speak to them. PM his mind. Sunday Times estimate 7-11k people died as a result. Shocking story. Great reporting. Should be headline news thetimes.co.uk/article/48-ho…

🤷‍♂️ it’s almost like acute trusts haven’t been trying for the last decade…. I mean I’m all for innovation and transformation, but this is less than helpful given staff morale and workforce fatigue.
BREAKING: All hospitals in England told to take "immediate steps" to find extra space for patients so that no ambulance waits longer than 30mins. This must be done despite the extra burden on hospital staff, say NHS chiefs.

Vaccines aren't very good at stopping transmission any more unfortunately. But they are still phenomenonal at preventing severe illness and death. So while mandates don't make much sense now, it's still 100% worth getting vaccinated - it might just save your life.

One of my friends has just received this email from their directorate. I’ve advised them to reply “because I’ve got a bloody life outside of this hospital and I already spend too much time in this place”. Making people feel guilty for not working on days off is filthy.

Maruzza Jan Aldridge from York reminds us of the power of listening and supporting in grief

Maruzza last day. Amy Volans from East of England reminding us of power of non verbal communication. And hospitals having WiFi for patients and families that works.
