A new study
@Nature of over 1,200 medical university employees found that job
#stress, specifically an imbalance between effort and reward, significantly lowers quality of life, and poor sleep quality plays a key role in this link.
More than 60% of participants reported effort-reward imbalance, and they had worse
#sleep and lower quality of life across physical, psychological, social, and environmental domains.
Structural equation modeling showed that the negative impact of
#job stress on well-being was partly explained by disrupted sleep, with subjective sleep quality and daytime dysfunction being the main drivers.
These findings suggest that workplace interventions should focus on improving
#rewards (like recognition and fair compensation) and supporting sleep health to protect employee well-being.
