The Eastern Cape Government commemorated the courage and sacrifice of the youth of 1976 by showcasing its investment in the potential of the youth of today.
MEC: Finance, Mlungisi Mvoko handed over business support packages to 4 youth-owned enterprises and 10 motorcycles through the ECDC and Kasi Delivery Youth Empowerment Programme, aimed at helping young people access opportunities in the township delivery economy.
Premier Oscar Mabuyane urged young people to take initiative, while ECDC Acting CEO Lionel Billings highlighted entrepreneurship as a powerful driver of economic participation and job creation.
Through enterprise development, sector support, investment facilitation, & skills empowerment initiatives, the ECDC continues to equip young people with the tools, opportunities & support needed to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to the province’s growth.
Recently, the ECDC, with support from the dtic through the SSAS Incentive Scheme, led a trade mission of 10 Eastern Cape agri-processing, agriculture, and agri-tech companies to the International Food Show Africa in Tunis, Tunisia.
The mission included a market intelligence session hosted with the South African Embassy in Tunisia, a three-day exhibition, business to business engagements, and strategic networking aimed at unlocking export opportunities and strengthening trade ties.
