Last Friday, NBC News reporter and "dystopia beat" specialist Ben Collins '10 @oneunderscore__ talked to professor Mark Leccese and a packed room about the spread of disinformation and how journalism can hold a light against conspiracies from the dark web.
Collins spoke of the bizarre and terrifying stories he has covered, emphasizing the importance of protecting sources, staying empathetic, and being radically honest in the face of adversity. He encouraged students to find an issue that makes them furious, and write about it.
"In the past couple of years, my home state has experienced drastic flooding due to climate change, the creek behind my house overflowing into the prairie."
