Leaving a job, starting a business? That is a bloody difficult decision. You're putting it all on the line, with absolutely no guarantee of any success. It goes wrong, who's to blame? You. Nobody else. There is no safety net. And that's exactly how it should be. You work hard, you succeed - you're rewarded. If it doesn't come off, you're not. Fair enough. Wealth and success are seen as dirty things. NO. We want high-minded individuals operating with each other, with as little Government intervention as possible. That is what any society should strive towards. But I really do want to stress this point to any politicians reading. It is NOT easy, and it is NOT straightforward. They don't understand, because they haven't done it. A big majority of MPs have had an easy career. No sleepless nights about paying staff, unpaid invoices, fighting for contracts and so much more. It is stressful. It is really bloody stressful. I know, I have been there more times than I care to remember. What's the politician career path? University, work for an MP, become an MP, shadow minister, minister. Maybe a sprinkling of union work or at some nonsense think tank. It means NOTHING. I get so depressed thinking about it all. We are governed by RANK amateurs. A five year old with a lemonade stand has more business experience than most of the cabinet. Reeves, Reynolds, Lammy, Rayner, Miliband? I'd fancy my chances with the toddler - at least they're sincere. Investing in talented people is a passion of mine. Often it works, sometimes it doesn't. But I love it. I would not give a PENNY to ANY of this lot - their combined experience, or what we believe of it, couldn't run a corner shop. The men and women who take risks, generate wealth, create jobs deserve our respect - they are what drives the economy forward. This Labour Government needs to have a long hard think about what they are inflicting on these people. If they carry on down this path, there won't be a private sector left to tax. My message to small businesses is this - keep going. It is worth it, but it will be a very challenging few years. I wish you all well.

Graham Stuart,Ā MP for Beverley and Holderness delivers a great speech in the parliamentary inheritance tax on family farms debate: It is possible to challenge one’s Government. I said to my Whips then that the best service we could do the Government was to prevent them from doing something stupid, harmful and alienating to voters. I hope that Government Members can see that, because the Opposition cannot change this. People outside say to me, ā€œCan we get this changed?ā€ It is actually up to Labour MPs. They have the majority. Democracy is not about having a majority and doing what one likes. Democracy is about listening and doing what the now Prime Minister told the NFU when he said: ā€œYou deserve a Government that listens, that heeds early warningsā€. There are one or two warnings about. Listen, change: if the Government change, four years on, no one will remember the U-turn. Whatever civil servants say—they are always very keen to stick with a policy—if it is wrong, stop doing it. And this is wrong. In the minute and 20 seconds I have left, let me say why it is so wrong. We have touched on the various elements, but I am not sure we have pulled it all together. We have a really peculiar group of businesspeople in this country; they are called farmers. They take a return on capital—the millions they have invested in their farms—that is typically less than 1%. There is nobody that I am aware of—no business I was ever involved in—that would remotely consider continuing in an industry that paid less than 1%. These farmers take a pittance and get up at 4 o’clock in the morning for the privilege. They look after the animals and it does not matter if they are ill; they cannot carry their employment rights and go, ā€œI’m not well, I shouldn’t have to go out,ā€ because the cows do not care: they have to go out and look after them, and then they get less than 1% return. Those farmers, the most beneficent public-minded businesspeople in the whole country, then provide excellent food at among the lowest prices in Europe. If ever there were a business that we would not want to go and mess with, it is these—I should not say it, because I will make enemies of them. We must understand how remarkable it is that there is a whole group of businesspeople who take practically nothing from their business, work all the hours God gives, and provide us with some of the finest food in the world at among the lowest prices in Europe. Why would we want to mess with that? Not only do they do that, but they brainwash their children from the earliest age so that they carry on doing it. These people are in indentured service to the nation, providing food while making very little profit. They do it willingly and, in fact, love it: it is their life. To go and mess with them out of some stupid, socialist spite is ridiculous and absurd, and Government Members know that—the hon. Member for North Northumberland certainly does, and he should lead his colleagues to tell the Chancellor to change course, just as we did in 2012 when George Osborne got it wrong.ā€

This farmer explains in harsh financial terms how the government are making a tax fortune due the food productivity of farmers. Our farmers are selling their crops for a pittance in comparison to what the government receive in tax revenues from the endeavours of farmers.

I'm jealous and happy for America. Trump is soon to be back in the White House—an anti-woke, no-nonsense, common-sense President who loves his country. Meanwhile, we're stuck with two-tier Keir—a weak, robotic, vacuous pillock who refuses to put the British people first.

Fantastic rant by Neil Oliver: "There's a war on, a war on humanity... The declared aim of the war is to force all of us to accept less." "The so-called elites of the World Economic Forum pontificate about how all the control in the world ought to be in their hands, the hands of a technocracy, while we on the other hand should have nothing and be happy." "We are lectured and hectored about the necessity to live smaller, hungrier, colder, limited lives by those whose lifestyles are an exercise in excess." Credit: @thecoastguy

A must read, a very accurate description of how the industry we love & generations before us have loved and nurtured is now been torn apart by financially illuturate, incompetent idiots who don't have a clue what it takes to produce food day in day out. unherd.com/2024/11/a-farmers…
