According to eyewitnesses, thick black smoke began billowing from the vehicle's engine bay while it was travelling on the freeway. The driver managed to pull over safely before the double-cab bakkie was engulfed in flames. Emergency services and fire brigade personnel responded swiftly to the scene and worked to extinguish the blaze. No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined. #LimpopoChronicle

Police in Magaliesburg have arrested four suspects who were found with eight AK-47 rifles and seven empty magazines. Officers were patrolling the R24 road this morning when they noticed a Volvo truck with a Namibian registration number parked on the side of the road and Mazda sedan behind it. Two men were spotted carrying a mielie bag from the truck into the boot of the Mazda vehicle. Police found the firearms and empty magazines in the mielie bag (pictured below). KJ #KayaNews

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธNew: Luis Suรกrez reacts to Uruguayโ€™s arrival in the United States for the World Cup, where the squad faced sniffer dogs and rigorous security checks: โ€œIโ€™ve been in football a long time, and Iโ€™ve seen tournaments all over the world. But what weโ€™re witnessing here with the USA hosting this World Cup is deeply concerning. Take the Uruguay team arriving โ€” world-class players like Manuel Ugarte, standing there with arms folded, looking utterly bewildered as sniffer dogs go through their bags like theyโ€™re common criminals. That image says it all. These are ambassadors of the game, not suspects at the border. This isnโ€™t hospitality; itโ€™s humiliation dressed up as security. Youโ€™ve got a Somali referee, one of Africaโ€™s best, denied entry despite a valid visa โ€” a man who dreamed of officiating at the pinnacle of his career, turned away at the airport. African and South American delegations facing extra screenings, visa chaos for fans and officials from qualified nations. This is the โ€˜land of the freeโ€™ rolling out the red carpet? It feels more like a fortress with razor wire. The beautiful game deserves better than being turned into a political football or a paranoid checkpoint. FIFA chased the dollars โ€” and there are billions to be made, no doubt โ€” but theyโ€™ve sold the soul of the tournament to a host that treats global football stars and supporters like potential threats. Meanwhile, American taxpayers and host cities are left holding a bill running into hundreds of millions for security and logistics that FIFA largely pockets. Football has always been about unity, passion, and bringing people together across borders. Right now, under this hosting, itโ€™s being strangled by suspicion and overreach. The world is watching these scenes and cringing. If this continues, it risks leaving a bitter taste that lingers far longer than any on-pitch glory. We needed a celebration of the game โ€” not a showcase of division. Something has to change.โ€

Two bogus doctors have been arrested over the sale of sick notes in KwaMashu. Preliminary information suggests the syndicate has been operational for at least a decade. On Monday, members of the SAPS Economic Infrastructure Task Team set a trap for the pair. It was discovered that a one-day sick note cost R100 while a three-day version cost R150. Several replicated doctorโ€™s notes were found on the premises at the Ithala Shopping Centre. The names listed on the documents are real doctors, who allegedly suffered damages amounting to millions as a result of the scam. The arrested men face charges of fraud and forgery and are due in court soon. @eNCA

This was our message to the Youth in 2022. It is still our message even this year. Young people must rise and reclaim our country from the thugs in power that are stealing our future.

JUST IN: Four suspects have been arrested in Magaliesburg after police discovered eight AK-47 rifles and seven empty magazines concealed in a white bag during a patrol operation on the R24. Officers became suspicious after observing two men transferring the bag from a Namibian-registered Volvo truck to a Mazda 2 parked nearby. Upon searching the bag, police found the firearms and immediately arrested the suspects. The truck driver, a Namibian citizen, apparently stated that he had been given the parcel in Namibia for delivery, while the female owner of the Mazda said she had transported the other suspects to Magaliesburg at the request of her boyfriend.
