Been using an induction hob for 5 years and have just cooked on gas for the first time in ages. Quite apart from the toxins I’m now breathing, the amount of waste heat, emissions, and money from using gas is a joke. Switch to induction as soon as possible; you won’t regret it.

An example given by @simonahac to illustrate how the Community Independents are disadvantaged in our electoral system; Today if you donate $1500 to Dan Tehan in Wannon, it's tax deductible. But, if you donate $1500 to Community Independent Alex Dyson, it's not tax deductible.

Hi @elonmusk, last week I sold the TSLA stock I have held for over a decade entirely because your words and actions are a dereliction of your responsibility as Tesla CEO. The proceeds will go to buying a lovely new EV from a competitor.

The so-called 'nuclear plan' is in reality, a smoke screen to prop up the fossil fuel industries, dismantling Australia's thriving smart renewables sector that powers homes at the lowest costs in history and employs 40,000 workers.

What a total cop out & betrayal of the late Peta Murphy's legacy. There is support in the parliament to implement the Murphy Review recommendations in full - not some watered down policy to appease the gambling industry. Find some courage & end this harm smh.com.au/politics/federal/…

Note #School #children on side of road breathing all this crap in! Every #Petrol and #Diesel #car produces this #pollution all the time, you just can’t see it. It’s there, it causes #cancer and #cardiovascular diseases. This alone should be reason enough to go #EV. #auspol.

i ❤️ this… don't engage with 'dismissives' unless: 1. you enjoy the sport 2. you're really talking with others.
Replying to @KHayhoe
Contrary to what many think, I don't spend my time talking to dismissives and my only helpful tip is this: don't bother, unless (a) you enjoy arguing and never getting anywhere or (b) there are other people listening who need to know there are solid answers to their objections.

If we plan to use gas, we'll use gas If we plan not to use gas, we won't need gas What 2030 electricity can be in Australia if we plan not to use gas Not dreaming, just data and positive action applied to our @FSS_Au model Renewables Made in Australia x.com/ProfRayWills/status/17… 🧵
Today I released the Future Gas Strategy which establishes how gas will help Australia reach net zero by 2050 and assist our regional partners to do the same. 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 minister.industry.gov.au/min…

.@AustralianLabor's gas push is about pushing through huge new *export* projects. 80% of our gas is used for export… but it's mostly not australians exporting our gas: overwhelmingly it's international companies, paying little to no tax, whose interests don’t align with 🇦🇺.
Replying to @simonahac
🤓 80% of australia's gas is used for export. the biggest domestic use of gas is to process gas for export! (much of this could be electrified.) we burn more gas running LNG export plants (7.3%) than in either the entire manufacturing (6.9%) and power generation (6.6%) sectors.

Those considering an investment in #nuclear in #australia as a good thing should watch @tonyseba's presentation on 100% renewables. Australia has more wind and solar resources than anywhere in the world. youtube.com/watch?v=PM2RxWtF…

Our house only sources around 20% of the energy from the grid and this is from when I choose to grid-charge my car to prevent house battery drain.

Multiply this out with all 10,000,000 homes in Australia and you can see why #nuclear is simply a waste of money. Especially when you see industry adopting #wind, #solar and #storage as it's simply cheaper (see above).

Why are you seeing nuclear debate? 💸🦃 Simple: The oil industry generates over US $2 trillion every year - around $4b a day. So every *day* they delay transition to renewables is worth $4b. Nuclear is their new delay tactic. Nuclear spruikers are in their employ.
