POLITICAL SEASON: MY ADVICE TO IMO POLITICIANS ACCROSS PARTY LINES AND BUSINESS MEN/WOMEN.
1. Whichever party you are, or presidential candidate you are supporting, please dont give your surport freely or just on a platter of cash or personal gains, rather exchange your support in favour of our state, Imo.
2. If you are a politician, office holders, party executives, member presidential campaign council, transition committee member, or business man or woman that wants to donate to presidential candidate, senate, or HoR please negotiate, lobby and exchange your support in favour of our state, Imo on the following key items that will improve our state economy:
A. Concession of 300 nautical mile to the Atlantic ocean for development of Seaport in Imo state.
B. Grant IMSG in conjuntion with private investors an OML and OPL license ( JV of 51% NNPCL and 49% IMSG) to explore and develop all capped oil wells in the state. This will ensure we domesticate our aboundant natural gas to benefit Imo economy. The era of pipping out our natural gas while leaving out non for domestic investors should be over
C. Support only would-be governor, Senator, HoR who understands our state economy and ready to build it bigger not those who sees our state as where they can achieve their political ambition or be buried. Not those who if given power, will ship out our fiscal resource/ economy through awarding huge contracts to outside Imo based companies on the alter of not having the capacity, instead of building the capacity of state based coys.
D. Negotiate for International airport, 100% resource control, state policing etc. These will positively impact our state economy.
In conclusion, align your state, Imo to the center by negotiating your support in exchange of these crucial items and ndi Imo will follow you where you are. Dont support with empty bargain and come in the next 4 years to tell us to align to the center when we cannot see any benefit of you being in the center.
Ekwuchalam.
