if we’ve brought back global pandemics, titanic disasters, railroad strikes, a King of England and Russian coups, we should also get to bring back the parts of the 20th century where they had cocaine in the soda and a minimum wage earner could buy a family home

Ted Lasso did something not many TV shows have. Challenged us to be better humans. If you really listen to what the show is saying we can all learn something. The best thing we can do is to keep asking for help and accepting it when you can. Be a goldfish. #TedLassoFinale

#TedLasso might not be your thing, and that's fine, but the influence of a popular and well-produced show that embraces optimism and empathy is never a bad thing, especially given the tsunami of rage and bleakness we absorb through social media every day. I'm so grateful for it.

"These go to 11". "It's a big building with patients but that's not important right now." "Bueller. Bueller?" The writers' strike in the US led me to think about lines in movies that have stuck with me my whole life. Imagine writing something silly that endures for decades.

On what would have been the great Terry Pratchett's 75th birthday, let's all raise a banana(nana) daiquiri in the great man's name and remember, "No one is actually dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away." #GNUTerryPratchett #SpeakHisName #BeMoreTerry

(1/3) Twitter’s own policy defines government-funded media as cases where the government “may have varying degrees of government involvement over editorial content,” which is clearly not the case with CBC/Radio-Canada. → help.twitter.com/en/rules-an…

It’s easy to think “it’s just a few minutes.” But as the number of people that you hold up increases, the true cost of being late scales rapidly. Being 10 mins late to a meeting with 10 others is 100 minutes. I'm doing some work on improving meeting practice currently so this sketch speaks to me. It comes from @sketchplanator, one of the most impactful visual artists on Twitter.

One of the coolest lizard facts I know is that after one round of hybridization (2 different species mating), some whiptail hybrids can reproduce using parthenogenesis (cloning themselves!)! Can you #FindThatLizard, a Chihuahuan spotted whiptail? Let me know with #FoundThatLizard
