I think sometimes git blame after refactors is like parking. Sure your approach sucks, but it had to suck because it was built against X, like the first asshole who parked crooked so the whole row had to until eventually it’s only your car left and now you look like the asshole.

I have just published a proposal to add fuzz testing support to Go, with the goal of making this an experimental feature for 1.17. @jayconrod and I have been working hard on this for a while, and are excited for this next big step! 🎉 golang.org/issues/44551

Alright folks, gather round and let me tell you the story of (almost) the biggest engineering disaster I’ve ever had the misfortune of being involved in. It’s a tale of politics, architecture and the sunk cost fallacy [I’m drinking an Aberlour Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch]
I’m gonna have to get a glass of whiskey to answer this properly.

Just found the AWS US-East-1 outage postmortem is up. Overall: increasing capacity causing more syncing overhead then slamming against configuration limits was the start of the cascading failure - an interesting read! Well worth a few minutes: aws.amazon.com/message/11201…

git pro tip: stick to a consistent style for git commit messages. I suggest starting them with “In which our hero”. E.g., In which our hero fixes JIRA-2317

So you’ve got a huge campus where employees can roam around and find a comfortable space to work. No one can locate you and everyone uses Slack to communicate, Zoom to talk, and Dropbox to share files. You’re already working remotely, you’re just driving to an office to do it.

When online banking says, "Due to security reasons, you cannot use right-click in this web-site," I fear dearly for the bank's "security."
