the enunciation of the SCOTUS decision is rooted in “originalism”—an imaginary constructed past which presumes THAT pose IS perfect & stands w/o challenge in contemporary context. This is why CRT was such a threat. It problematizes the perfect originalist narrative.

A lot of DC Democrats are saying this is now an "election" issue. That is BULLSHIT. Abortion was outlawed TODAY in Missouri. Missourians can't just wait for another election. Senate Democrats need to end the filibuster and codify Roe NOW.

The same SCOTUS that said yesterday that states don’t have the ability to regulate guns today gave states the power to regulate women’s bodies.

Acknowledgment is one this, Action is another. Every year #Juneteeth should be recognized w/ passage of a Federal Law aimed at addressing CURRENT disparities for the direct descendants of the Enslaved, injustice stemming directly from the holocaust of slavery…to CORRECT it. 🧵

Juneteenth is more than a celebration, it's a commitment to Black liberation in its totality —only then will we be truly free.

“(63,488) of these applications remained “pending” at the end of April, as the state “struggled”(emphasis mine) to process these applications on a timely basis, and the average delay in processing these applications was 101 days.” It’s not a struggle, it’s a strategy.

Rejection is not failure. It is an invitation to re-examine what you want and what power others have over you. I’ve been rejected way more than I’ve been accepted. Acceptance increases my range, rejection increases my focus. #SundayThoughts

1/ Let's talk about how note taking can help you accelerate expertise. Yes, I know how that sounds like. No, this isn't hype. There's some solid cognitive science here, and it has FASCINATING things to say about the nature of learning in messy, real world domains.

Great analysis out of New York. One thing is just that decreasing vaccine effectiveness is often accompanied by increasing number of infections or hospitalizations averted during epidemic worsening. So ratio measure or effects tell an important but only part of the story.
