We are hearing from sisters about Islamophbic, racist, misogynistic violence they are face on the streets. We know many Muslim women are not reporting hate crimes to the police or authorities. We call again on the government to recognise gendered Islamophbia as #VAWG #RaceRiots

We felt it was important to gather our thoughts as a team given the gravity of this situation, which is so directly linked to our work. Here’s a joint statement, and individual reflections from some of the team, many of whom are people of colour and/or in affected areas.

There is never any justification for killing children - whether in Palestine, Israel or Lebanon. This devastating cycle of violence must stop. I condemn the deadly airstrikes on children and teenagers in Majdal Shams, on Khadija Girls' School in Gaza, and all other attacks that place children in harm’s way. I pray for families who have been bitterly bereaved, and for the de-escalation of violence on all sides. In God’s name we appeal for an end to this killing of the innocent - and for a different path to a better future. Please pray for all the grieving families of Gaza, the West Bank, Israel and the region. Pray for the wounded and traumatised, for those held hostage and those longing for their return. We hold all the people of the Holy Land before God in prayer - for their safety, dignity and freedom.

Heartbreaking and tragic news of children being attacked and killed in #Southport today, my thoughts with the families & loved ones who will be in unimaginable pain. I hope those in critical condition will make a swift recovery and my gratitude to the emergency services 🙏
