Real journalists stand up to #NewsCorpse

A shitload of so-called progressive Australian journalists and their employers unfollowed or blocked MFW after we started our #NewsCorpse campaign, because they felt their mates’ incomes were more important than climate collapse, hate and lies.
Even more of them have unfollowed or blocked us since the campaign has recently ramped up.
Some of them were personal friends of one or more of our Admins, too: didn’t matter, as protecting colleagues and sticking together as a media “club” now trumps any other consideration.
Nearly all of them adored our Alan Jones campaign but going after Rupert Murdoch might hurt people they went to uni with or socialise with, which is and was beyond the pale.
This tells you nearly everything you need to know about the fucked state of journalism in this country and how imperative it is that *somebody* tries to stand up to it.
We don’t care about losing followers or friends but the reason is pretty poor form.
If only they knew it, their actions only inspire us to work harder. It should inspire all of you, too.
