>Plot centers entirely around fighting extreme government taxation and overreach >The Sheriff of Nottingham literally collects taxes from the church poor box >Friar Tuck gets so fed up with the state disrespecting the Church that he physically throws hands with the Sheriff >Casts the Crusades in a positive light >Male protagonist who risks his life for his people >Unapologetically traditional romance with Maid Marian without any modern subversion >Climax is literally a raid to break political prisoners out of a corrupt jail >Story resolves when the rightful, divinely-appointed monarch returns from the Holy Land to crush the corrupt politicians >Ends with a beautiful church wedding and a happily ever after We need to make Kid's stories based again

Luke Skywalker was at a dinner eating with his hands. Made a mess of things. Obi Wan just rolls his eyes, points, and says "Luke, use the forks."

Go show some support to my pal @equalitysdaniel, he's a great writer and his work doesn't get the attention it deserves. I've done some fan art and gotten to design the covers for two of his stories! Recommend if you enjoy dark fantasy adventures. :) royalroad.com/profile/492452…

My favorite thing about the World Cup isn’t even the soccer. It’s watching our international guests discover America. One woman from just discovered that the Amish are real. Not “real” as in a historical footnote. Real as in horse-and-buggy, no electricity, still-here-today real. She wrote the most wonderfully wholesome thread about it. Then there are the people discovering Buc-ee’s for the first time. Honestly, I understand the reaction. The first time I walked into one, I lived in Texas and was still completely overwhelmed. You don’t “stop for gas” at Buc-ee’s. You enter a parallel dimension where there are 120 gas pumps, enough jerky to feed a small nation, and people leave with armloads of merchandise they never intended to buy. Watching visitors discover Buc-ee’s, the Amish, county fairs, roadside attractions, and all the other uniquely American things has been unexpectedly hilarious, heartwarming, and fun. Sometimes it takes fresh eyes to remind us just how interesting this country really is. 🇺🇸
A place like this could ONLY exist in America and I LOVE it.

USA. A Mexican restaurant. We had not yet ordered anything, and the food was already arriving. Chips. Salsa. Unrequested. Free. I stopped the waiter. "We have not earned these." "They just come with the table, man." They come with the TABLE. In my land, hospitality is a debt. Every gift creates an obligation, weighed carefully, returned in the proper season with interest of feeling. Here, the gift arrives before you have even proven you can pay for dinner. This is not an appetizer. This is a declaration: we trust you. Eat. I ate with the gravity the moment deserved. And then — I must report this calmly — the basket emptied, and a new one appeared. "Did we…?" "Refill," the waiter said. "It's bottomless." Bottomless. They have wells of salsa. The supply lines of this nation are beyond anything my ancestors imagined. My friend warned me. "Don't fill up on chips, dude." Too late. I had accepted three baskets. Honor demanded each one be finished — an unfinished gift is an insult. By the time my actual food arrived, I was a ruined man. I was not hungry. I was not comfortable. I had been defeated by a courtesy. Generosity that arrives before the request cannot be repaid. It can only be survived. I know the rule now. I have made my peace with the basket. One basket. Two at the most. Who am I deceiving. There is no number of baskets I would refuse. The trust of a nation is in that salsa, and I intend to honor all of it.

Here's the thing. Cultures at that time sacrificed kids. Abraham was Babylonian, who were known to sacrifice children. This story is God teaching Abraham a lesson. He told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac just as all every other culture did to their gods, but God stopped him to show that this is not His way and had Abraham sacrifice an animal instead. This story points forward to Jesus. Abraham stated that God would provide the sacrifice. Jesus was God sacrificing His son for us and our sins.
Christians think this is normal

“Your punishment for having a knife when they searched you would be very different from the thief’s. For him to have a knife was mere misbehavior, tradition, he didn’t know any better. But for you to have one was ‘terrorism.’”
They shaved my head too.😐 Karmelo Anthony got 35 years for murder. He'll possibly be out in 15 or less. I got 140 years for calling the police on the gangbangers who just shot through my brand new car and my daughter's bedroom. When the police got there, I showed them the damage to the car, the house, and pointed out the guys who literally just did it. They lived on the same street and were standing outside drinking and smoking weed like they always did. The officer didn't seem to care at all. His only concern was my own pistol that I had holstered for my family's protection. For some reason he placed me in handcuffs. As I was sitting there trying to figure out what was going on, all of my neighbors and friends came out to testify on my behalf. He gave me an aggravated assault charge against every single one of them including our friend Rachel's new baby she was holding in her arms while she talked with the officer. This is how the officer explained it to me... " Aggravated Assault because I had a weapon in a public place during an altercation... If this were a walmart, he would have charged me with everybody in the walmart parking lot." First of all, there was no altercation/assualt. I never went outside until the police got there. Second, I never left my house/driveway. Third, none of the people I supposedly assaulted were present at the time of the altercation that never happened. ✝️ The real kicker is this is all happening to me right after i've given my life to Christ. None of it made any sense, like how could this possibly be happening? Looking back it's clear, the devil tried to take my life.👀 Unfortunately, because these are such serious charges, I had to sit in jail for 6 months while God fought the battle. But God is good amen! He who is in us is greater than he who's in the world! The 31 year old woke marxist DA (Devil's Assistant), in good health, dropped dead of a heart attack. The new DA was a Christian woman who trained under my Christian JAG attorney. I finally got a court date and ended up with probation. The judge actually thought the case was missing paperwork because it was so ridiculous. That 6 months proved to be invaluable to me. I had all the time in the world to study God's word. I had to have read the Bible 4 or 5 times during those 6 months. I would read till I fell asleep, wake up and start reading again. I was even given the nickname "preach" and started a little Bible study group right in the middle of the dragon's layer. Every evening, all of us believers would pray in a circle, and God made sure our dorm was the most peaceful dorm that jail had ever seen. I came out of that jail a new man, trained to rely on the Holy Spirit and God's word in the face of the toughest challenges. I saw the power of God at work inside and outside the jail. Jesus pulled me out of the grip of satan and shut the mouths of the lions in the dungeon. My God what an awesome God! I even came out with a 15k sack of coin because God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (My retirement kept adding up with nowhere to go😇). There is so much more to this story, It's still being written. What a journey it has been. I press on toward the goal to win the prize of God’s heavenly calling in Christ Jesus (Phi 3:14).

Seeing a Bible verse inside a restaurant is the same as having naked men parading down the middle of the street, drag queen story hour, and LGTV stuff pushed in all media, apparently.
