Excited to vote in the CA governor’s race if I can find anyone’s name (that’s just the first page)

We'd joke about his habit of flagging tweets we'd already seen. But truth is, the guy was a born newshound and just loved getting the story out. He pushed reporters to do their best work. The kind of guy every newsroom needs. washingtonpost.com/obituarie…

I am crushed. Dan had that rare magic where he could make a few tweaks and maintain a writer’s voice yet make the story a million times better. He had an insatiable hunger for a good story and kept us in good spirits even in the craziest of news cycles washingtonpost.com/obituarie…

We just published my swan song for The Post: Congress nears tipping point of irrelevance. It’s been an amazing 19-plus-year run, especially last decade of this @PKCapitol column. The Post has been family, giving me this perch to cover Congress. So lucky … washingtonpost.com/politics/…

Reading the most gripping account of Jan 6: “Storm At The Capitol” by my good friend @MCJalonick . It’s an oral history that takes you right there — living history of a day we must never forget. And a great read! Available wherever books are sold etc …

I arrived at The Post during a personal and professional nadir. But they welcomed me into their merry band of misfits, and believed in me — so I started believing in myself, too. My ode to what makes The Post so special. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹theatlantic.com/politics/202…

What happened at the Washington Post today is soulless, cowardly and doesn't make sense from a business perspective. What they cut goes against their own strategy: teams that garnered high subscriptions; had loyal, diverse readers; did video; covered breaking news (our backbone)

I was laid off from The Washington Post today. I know, real original sentence. My first plagiarism in 20 years of journalism. My job was stupid fun and I loved every minute of it. I’m sad for my talented colleagues but sadder the world will not get to enjoy to their amazing work

RT @isaacstanbecker: If you're canceling your Washington Post subscription but still have an Amazon Prime membership, you're doing it wrong.

My daughters along with many (most?) other kids at South Pasadena Middle School will walk out at 1 today to protest ICE… And so TIL there is a CA law allowing one excused absence per year for civic or political events, per school principal

In the winter of 2005, just after their wedding, Lawrence H. Summers and his wife, Elisa F. New, went to financier Jeffrey E. Epstein’s private island in the Caribbean during their honeymoon. @dhruvtkpatel and @camsrivastava report. thecrimson.com/article/2025/…

I am so impressed with the South Pasadena High School student newspaper coverage of the shutdown! They freaking nailed it.

Death of SFC disabled activist Alice Wong so tragic … Grateful I got to learn about her via assignment I was doing. She was all about making disabled people heard in so many ways & pushing for change . Prayers to so many who loved her and lost an irreplaceable voice for justice.

“F*** ICE Forever!” — @ChappellRoan performing in Pasadena last night, per my daughter who had the best night of her life. (Perhaps relatedly, I was not there.)

As a kid I loved the Great California Shakeout earthquake drill! Always excited when my daughters are going to get to do it, although they are not. They also won’t let me accept this kind invitation to join them 🤷‍♀️

Did not realize until getting my ballot that our $282 million special election in CA has only one thing on it, the Democrats’ redistricting proposition

Despite economic insecurity etc , a long line has formed outside South Pas. CA Trader Joe’s in anticipation of release of mini tote bags which are apparently “really cute” per person in line (who also said it’s unrelated to possible price increase from tariffs). 🤷
