Margaret Happy lost her two sisters in the 1990s, when HIV treatment was not available. Today she works in Uganda to prevent advanced HIV disease through timely diagnosis. @Unitaid, we’re working to protect access to CD4 testing. Timing saves lives.

Nairobi, Kenya: We conclude Advanced HIV Disease #AHD sensitization training with leadership from communities of persons with disabilities, boda boda riders, and informal sector traders. The session at Mbagathi County Referral Hospital was one of six trainings conducted across six counties. These leaders are more than participants; they are now AHD ambassadors. They understand the grounds, the language, and the barriers people face in accessing care. They will take AHD information back to their groups and workplaces, helping to dispel myths, end stigma, encourage early health-seeking behaviour, and connect more people to lifesaving services. @MOH_Kenya Peer-to-peer change in action. #AHD #THRIVE

Communities have a vital role to play in shaping the future of HIV policy, programming, and markets. Meaningful community engagement must go beyond a box-ticking or academic exercise—it should be a genuine partnership that informs decision-making and drives equitable access to innovations. @afrocab_hiv 's Regional CAB Coordinator is proud to contribute to these important conversations at the ongoing Future of HIV Markets Forum in Nairobi, Kenya, co-hosted by @UNITAID and @CHAI_health. Together, we are advocating for a future where community voices are not only heard but actively shape policies, products, and investments that impact the lives of people affected by HIV. @gnpplus @PangaeaZimbabwe

26K fewer children on HIV treatment by end of 2025. Behind every number: cut community health workers, test kit shortages, collapses pediatric services. This is what funding cuts look like for kids. Our new HIV Market Impact Memo, w/support from @Unitaid: ow.ly/txZc50Z8amz

I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and support that @MichelleObama has poured into me over the years. Her story — from her South Side roots to the White House and beyond — is a central part of the Obama Presidential Center.

How should public health preparedness measures be implemented in a way that promotes transparency, accountability, and public trust? A case currently before the High Court is raising important questions about public participation, access to information, and oversight in public health decision-making. ''Communities already function as the first alert system for HIV commodity stockouts, but too often this happens informally." Speaking at the Future of HIV Markets Forum in Nairobi, Kenya, @afrocab_hiv Technical Director, Tamara Choola, highlighted the critical role of communities in strengthening HIV supply chains and ensuring continuity of care. Through the @UNITAID -funded #THRIVE project, @afrocab_hiv is formalizing Commodity Monitoring to complement Ministries of Health Logistics Management Information Systems (LMIS) by capturing real-time commodity availability information. This Community-led monitoring provides an early warning mechanism for stockouts, enabling timely action and evidence-based advocacy. #THRIVE #EndAIDS

We at @NEPHAKKENYA know how this came about. AIDS was an emergency under which you secure adults first; children later but we must now approach this and not continue to let children down! The plan to #EndAIDS among children is still on: unaids.org/en/topic/alliance…
