Evil Knievel jumping over the White House would have been the perfect, perfectly stupid Trump spectacle. You know I am right.

I just hate the people who are like “America is white European” or whatever. Suck my dick, you fucking moron. If that was true we’d be just another usual basic bitch country! Lots of countries operate like that! America is special because we’re too good for that! We have IDEALS

It is not a good idea to treat political office like the kind of job where experience is a detriment. I’m not saying that politics is the only relevant experience, but candidates for the upper levels (governors, president, state legislative leadership, US Senate) should have solid resumes. Both parties should work diligently to recruit nerds, number crunchers, mathematicians, policy wonks, polyglots, legal experts, researchers, engineers, & scientists to run and contribute their ideas and experience. We need to stop treating shouting loudly, being rude and obnoxious, and going viral online as the equivalent of actually having good ideas. Think about your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors. Who would you trust to watch your kids or pets? Who would you trust with a spare key to your house? Who would you trust to manage your finances? Let’s elect people that evoke those sorts of feelings rather than just who yelled and insulted the other side in a way that made a punchy tik tok caption. Make. Politics. Boring. Again. 🙏 🇺🇸

Yes, let's empower the government ensure that the media only presents one version of the facts. There's no way that could ever backfire. The irony is that this is coming from someone who right now has an extremely different view of a large number of facts compared to the view of the current administration!
Barack Obama says it’s time to “experiment” with “new forms of journalism” with “government regulatory constraints.” “Part of what we’re going to have to do is to start experimenting with new forms of journalism and how we use social media in ways that reaffirm facts and separate facts from opinion. We want diversity of opinion. We don’t want diversity of facts. That, I think, is one of the big tasks of social media. By the way, it will require some government regulatory constraints…”

If this is true, all it took was a tiny — tiny — bit of Republican spine. Imagine what more they could do.

Ossoff: This is what small men like Donald Trump and JD Vance and Stephen Miller will never understand—that our national greatness flows not through our blood or our genes, but through our ideas. Americans are not a race, we're a people united not by ethnicity, but by our shared convictions, and that is what makes us exceptional

Kearny AZ "was given just 77 acre-feet this year, a fraction of the 280 acre-feet it typically uses. Kearny asked residents to cut their water use by 30%, banned watering lawns and washing cars, drained its public pool and let Little League fields go brown." nytimes.com/2026/05/25/us/sn…

I want to thank Senator John Cornyn for his years representing our state.  We don’t agree on everything, but we both still believe in public service. To Senator Cornyn’s supporters: you have a place in our campaign.

Why do people who are mad at you on Twitter reply to you with an image of your own face? It never fails. I particularly don't understand it in my case, given how fundamentally handsome and intelligent I clearly look.

Everyone is down on artificial intelligence these days, especially on places like Twitter where the white-collar classes and, especially, the lumpen white-collar classes, hang out. Was the Industrial Revolution bad? If yes, why? If not, this revolution is the same basic thing.

U.S. plan to oust Hitler included audacious plan to install Heinrich Himmler as head of new nazi government.
A NYTimes Exclusive: Days after Israeli strikes killed Iran’s supreme leader, President Trump mused publicly that it would be best if “someone from within” Iran took over the country. It turns out that the United States and Israel went into the conflict with a particular and very surprising someone in mind: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the former Iranian president known for his hard-line, anti-Israel and anti-American views. To say that Mr. Ahmadinejad was an unusual choice would be a vast understatement. But U.S. officials spoke during the early days of the war about plans developed with Israel to identify a pragmatist who could take over the country. Officials insisted that there was intelligence that some within the Iranian regime would be willing to work with the United States, even if those people couldn’t be described as “moderates.” But the audacious plan, developed by the Israelis and which Ahmadinejad had been consulted about, quickly went awry, according to the U.S. officials who were briefed on it. There are many unanswered questions about how Israel and the United States planned to put Mr. Ahmadinejad in power, and the circumstances surrounding the airstrike that injured him. American officials said that the strike — carried out by the Israeli Air Force — was meant to kill the guards watching over Mr. Ahmadinejad as part of a plan to release him from house arrest. This god-forsaken administration is preparing to abandon Taiwan.
Marco Rubio: I think China's preference is probably to have Taiwan willingly voluntarily join them. In a perfect world, what they would want is some vote or a referendum in Taiwan that agrees to fold in. I think that's what they would prefer. Ultimately it's featured prominently in President Xi's mandate in the time he's been in office. He's made clear that what they call reunification, what they call it, is something that has to happen at some point. We think it would be a terrible mistake to force that through force or anything of that nature.
