One of the most heartbreaking things about checking social media over the last two days is the stunning lack of basic empathy we have for each other now.

We aren't anything other than a non-profit corporation. We have no political beliefs. We believe in life and safety. What we don't believe in however, is yelling on Twitter about "what should have been done" while people are running for their lives. Do better.

I evacuated on Wednesday and came back home this afternoon. Now I’m evacuating again. If you don’t live in Los Angeles please have some respect for the extreme toll this is taking on our mental health. It’s immeasurably nerve-wracking and unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.

If you’re evacuating Hollywood head south. Do not head east toward La Brea or Highland. It’s a parking lot. If you go south the streets are nearly empty.

I’m going to make this very clear, if you live anywhere north of the 10 and west of the 405. BE READY TO LEAVE NOW. The fire departments have given up on structural protection outside of those boundaries. Please trust your local infamous fault.
