We are strengthening defense cooperation with Estonia 🇪🇪🇺🇦
In Tallinn, we met with President
@AlarKaris, President of the Riigikogu Lauri Hussar, and Prime Minister
@KristenMichalPM.
We agreed to strengthen defense cooperation, specifically in the area of unmanned aerial systems, and to maintain a continuous exchange of experience in responding to security challenges.
Estonia continues to support Ukraine’s energy sector. Its contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund has already exceeded €2.6 million. At the same time, Ukraine is ready to share its own experience in energy decentralization and system management under difficult conditions.
Estonia is a reliable ally on our path to EU membership. I thanked them for supporting the EU loan for Ukraine. We also discussed further strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia, including work on the 21st sanctions package and efforts to counter the shadow fleet.
We paid special attention to the Bring Kids Back UA initiative and the return of Ukrainian children illegally deported to Russia. I am grateful to Estonia for supporting these efforts.
Estonia became the first country whose parliament ratified the agreement establishing the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine. In parallel, we are working to create a compensation mechanism.
Thank you for your participation in Ukraine’s recovery and for the active projects already underway in the Zhytomyr region. Ahead of us is the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk, where we will continue expanding our cooperation further.
