Every transaction since the merge already includes a cryptographic proof of eth burn Uniswap has burned $4b worth of eth :) No need to incentivize people to set their eth on fire with no benefit Ethereum acts like it’s desperate for a value flywheel when it already has one

okay so BETH is a token that generates demand for the burning of ETH and aims for supply reduction of an already programmatically deflationary asset. interesting idea and could be used for token gating & it can act as a social economic lever for eth’s deflation. what are the risks?

ethereum has been online ten years straight with zero pauses and zero maintenance windows. in that time: - facebook went down for 14 hours - aws kinesis froze for 17 - cloudflare dropped 19 datacenters - alt L1s…well, you know. every centralised giant blinks, they rely on on-call humans and scheduled downtime. but ethereum never stops, not through forks, crashes, bubbles, lawsuits, hacks, wars, and every kind of drama the internet can throw at it. and it’s not thanks to a CEO or a hotline. it’s not because someone saved it. it’s because we all did. devs, stakers, researchers, users, millions of us, scattered across the world, choosing to show up, block after block, year after year. while banks fail, clouds go dark and servers get patched, ethereum keeps going. we keep going. ten years online. forever to go.

Hey @subsetgames did you license your IP to this billion dollar company, or are they blatantly stealing your hard work for free?

We are at a crossroads. As a collective, we can abandon the dream of a blockchain-lead revolution in favor of siding with incumbents, existing as bricks in their world spanning pyramids -- or we can reject them and continue our ground-up revolution to displace them and usher in a more fair and based future. I choose to believe in somETHing.

Check your portfolio today bro -- pretty sure you ended up donating a whole lot more than $1m, LOL

I just personally donated $1m (mostly #ETH) to @realDonaldTrump. For too long, the crypto industry has been under attack by Elizabeth Warren, Gary Gensler and others. Despite overwhelming bipartisan Congressional efforts to put clear rules in place, the Biden White House has stood by and allowed a campaign of unchecked regulation by enforcement. This approach is diminishing US competitiveness as other major economies around the world advance clear rules to regulate digital assets. I am excited to join other leaders from our community to unite behind the only pro-crypto major party candidate in the 2024 Presidential election so the United States can continue to remain a leader in blockchain technology. #freeross

On August 15, 2010, Bitcoin broke. A bug in Block 74638 created 184 billion BTC out of thin air. That’s not a typo. Two outputs of 92 billion BTC each slipped through because the code didn’t check for integer overflow. The system just accepted it. Bitcoin’s sacred 21 million cap? Completely ignored. This wasn’t a theoretical flaw. It actually happened. And it proved something most people still don’t understand. Bitcoin’s scarcity is not protected by code. It’s protected by people. The only reason Bitcoin didn’t die that day is because someone noticed. A fix was pushed. A patched client was released. Nodes upgraded. Within five hours, the invalid block was erased from consensus. Bitcoin’s monetary policy was rescued, not by the protocol, but by the humans running it. That’s the truth behind the “trustless” narrative. Code did not save Bitcoin. The community did. Scarcity was never a guarantee. It was a fight. And it still is.

bro the ETH foundation is paying researchers and devs that are responsible for (i) ethereum not bleeding 5M ETH/year to proof of work (ii) your fees being low today (iii) your txs getting included in < 30s instead of like 1-30 min (eip 1559) show some respect
