Most people don’t care about privacy until they get burned - and by then, it’s too late.
Meanwhile, surveillance keeps getting easier and more present which means demand for privacy will definitely rise, whether people are ready or not.
During ETHCluj this year, we sat down with panelists from @Logos_network, @0xprivacypools, @colibriclient, @ship_armada and @web3privacy to talk through the different reasons why privacy today sometimes feels too complex or too inconvenient for people to use.
That’s why ongoing efforts to build privacy awareness matter - and we’re glad to contribute our part.
A heartfelt thanks to @roxananasoi@0xmikemcc@SteffenKux@Ether_Gavin and @robdotrego, who not only answered our call to speak on this important topic, but are also actively working to push privacy forward as a human right.

How do Ethereum's 3 big privacy protocols, Tornado Cash, Railgun & Privacy Pools, actually differ?
We have some colorful attributes that show the key differences. Here's the comparison:
naive anonymity set → all possible candidates
effective crowd → the portion of that set that remains relevant after obvious filters (eg. asset type, amount, timing, entry/exit patterns)
Community thrives when good people come together and think of ways to bring value to everyone around.
Ethereum for Everyone is the name we chose for @ETHCluj, and not just because it sounds good. Delighted to see it continued in ETHLagos, @EthereumNigeria community, and beyond.
happy about @l2beat's new privacy dashboard & the'onchain privacy best practice' post by @sekubalias 🤩
we want to add a new metric called "Effective Crowd"
(a scoped metric of the Anonymity Set)

40 years... just imagine!
How many ideas are sitting in someone's garage right now... waiting for the technology to finally bring them to life?
An old patent collected dust since 1985.
William Freeman sketched a three-sided zipper. A fastener that shifts objects from flexible to rigid at the push of a button.
MIT rejected his proposal. He filed the patent anyway.
Last month, MIT CSAIL finally built it... The Y-Zipper.
3D-printed, three arms, only one motion.
A quadruped that hardens its legs on hard surfaces, softens them on rough terrain. The zipper is the only mechanism doing that work.
40 years in a garage... one month to change how robots move.

If we ship FOCIL (EIP-7805), Frame Transactions (EIP-8141), Keyed Nonces (EIP-8250) and Recent Roots (EIP-8272) in Hegota, we get native, trustless, censorship resistant private transactions on Ethereum next year.
Dark Bio whitepaper is out!
We're building a system in which a person's health data, their genome most of all, no longer has to live with a custodian to be useful. A system, where data does not move, rather stays on a small device the owner holds.
banks spend an estimated $59B per year to file 28m compliance reports that resulted in 275 investigations, according to @EconWithNick's testimony yesterday
this "eth ngmi" narrative seems silly
if you're the only credible set of neutral rails, there is no competition. you just need to survive long enough to fulfill your roadmap (while the others implode under centralized pressure points)
