Did the last big attempts to construct an evolution-grounded, functionally systematic model of social evolution end in about 1980 (along with rock n' roll)? Axelrod:Hamilton, Lumsden:Wilson, Cvalli-Sforza:Feldman 1981. Can't grasp Boyd:Richerson 1985, not sure Laland is as broad.
