Great, the watch I bought less than three years ago is now out of support (for major updates at least).
What the fuck happened here. They killed of half a decade worth of Apple Watches. The oldest Apple Watch supported isn't even 2 years old.

If you're a fan of pre-reset Longhorn you might know the "urban legend" of builds ~4033 having broken DCE due to a Direct3D shader mishap. Turns out that's been wrong all along and it's just poor order of operations at init. 23 years and a fair bit of ASM later, 4033 glass! 🎉🪟

Anyone who happens to own physical copies of Windows Server 2003 (.NET Server at the time) RC1?

Back in fall of 2021 some of my colleagues work were disappointed because they could no longer reposition their taskbar. Great to see this level of customization come back as a first-party experience!
Now available: updates that make the Taskbar and Start feel way more personal. You’ve been asking (loudly! repeatedly! passionately!) and you were right. Let me know what you think.

Steam Controller easter egg: the controller screams when dropped by about 3 feet (Big Picture Mode, about once every 5-6 drops) reddit.com/r/SteamController…

Loving the details around what most perceive as a simple UI refresh.
Updating surfaces is tricky. We did the Run dialog. devblogs.microsoft.com/comma… ❤️ Terminal and PowerToys team.

Reading @stevesi's amazing posts about Office 97's development got me wondering.. could there be more fun stuff hiding under the hood that nobody found yet? Yessir! There's a whole developer credits sequence incl. commentary from Clippit that starts 1 minute in. Take a look! 📹📎

When I complain about consistency in Windows, it's not just about how it looks that frustrates me. It's how it feels and how it's built, too. How can the same company be rebuilding Run with native WinUI while simultaneously adding an agenda view to Action Center with WebView? It drives me crazy that they do this.

Sometimes, you might think "people are really over-dramatizing all this "software is bad in 2025" thing", but then you try switching between folders in the Windows File Explorer and it changes both the current tab, as well as the one behind it. Sure, I don't need that previous tab. I didn't open that because I wanted to return to it or anything.

I finally got a chance to review Microsoft's canceled Surface Neo! I had some hands-on time with it a number of months ago, and was able to document the experience. In short, it's an incredible and unique PC that I'm sad will never see the light of day: windowscentral.com/hardware/…
