Over a decade ago, I made a proposal to the BBWAA to create a relief-pitcher award.
The reason: Even as relievers were growing in prominence, they never won our other awards.
Mariano Rivera, the only unanimous HOF, won NO awards.
My proposal lost. But so glad to see @extrabaggs take up that quest!
