"Without visible campaigning, politicians have ‘plausible deniability’ to ignore the public will." Duane Raymond, Founder of @fairsay, on why we need effective local organising in the UK and beyond to shape what comes next for international development. buff.ly/dq1QoSc

The Wildlife Trusts have enlisted the expertise of David Oakes - actor and ecologist, Inka Cresswell - a marine biologist and ocean wildlife filmmaker, and Louis VI - a musician, zoologist and nature activist, to help ‘supercharge’ the restoration of wildlife and wild spaces. 💚 Their appointments come at a pivotal moment for nature’s recovery, with less than 4 years remaining for the UK to meet its international commitment to protect 30% nature on land and at sea by 2030. @WildlifeTrusts Read more here: wildlifetrusts.org/news/famo…

Why does the world feel like it’s coming apart at the seams — even when we’re more informed than ever? Because information alone doesn’t shape public life anymore. Emotion does. And that’s exactly what this 2013 paper saw coming. academia.edu/5292260/

After Disinformation: A Recovery Roadmap Fact-checking isn’t enough. Not after trust collapses. Not after meaning breaks. What disinformation really wounds is the psyche — and healing it takes more than corrections.

Everything you’ve been told about net zero is a lie.🚨 6 years ago, Cambridge Uni released the Absolute Zero report - a bombshell that shattered the illusions of "net zero." It got no mainstream media coverage. Here’s what it says humanity needs to do to give itself a future.🧵

Clearest description I have heard of what is wrong with the current economic system and what needs changing!
Jeffrey Sachs tells it like it is.

Great advice from Brent Lee who has lived experience of not only engaging conspiracy believers, but was immersed in that world. I'm hoping I can find the patience for what he advises!
I see a lot of people distancing themselves from friends / family. I understand. Your frustration is valid. If that's what you need, do it. But if you're still willing and able to put in the energy to pull them out of the rabbit hole, here's how to begin that process.

Ooh - I really hope they take every single inbound link to an existing /past lie and replace it with a related onion style article!

.@SteB777 You are right that the western mind silos nature. But I differ that nature can’t be campaigned on. Campaigning at its essence is communication and education of decision makers, allies, media, public and ourselves. Like ecosystems, different people do it differently. 1/

Changing that mindset is most likely in those campaigning vs than just accepting the anger/frustration of the damage because we come in contact with others further along the journey. Each find a way to act on it that also spreads the reality. It is just too slow for 8b people!

Hi @SteB777. We all start by thinking that sharing a knowledge and values things can change. They could. But they usually don’t. So welcome to club where we campaign. There is no right/wrong way. It takes all types and approaches. (I can’t reply directly due to your settings)

A recent @The_TUC campaign focused on UK #Labour MPs calling for a #NewDeal for Working People now that Labour are in government again. The TUC moderate the messages and choose the best ones to be printed and posted. Share your story with your MP at newdeal.tuc.postbug.app

.@OceanaUK is calling for people to #StandUpForOurSeas via their postcard campaign to UK MPs. Traditionally the UK waters have been teeming with life - but that is at risk without a change. Let your MP know at standupforourseas.postbug.ap…
