Our Automatic Alt Text (AAT) tool takes a giant leap forward today, offering image descriptions with more depth and detail. The number of objects & concepts AAT can recognize jumps to over 1200, a 10x increase since the feature was introduced. #AAT

Facebook iOS App version 252 is rolling out to the app store and should be available for everyone over the next couple of days. This update fixes the VoiceOver crash when scrolling the News Feed. Thank you for your patience.

We’re proud to improve Instagram for people with visual impairments. Starting today, we are automatically adding alternative text to photos on Feed, Explore and Profile so people who use screen readers can hear what’s in the photo.

The bug in Messenger affecting VoiceOver is now fixed and should go out in the next update (version 175) pending Apple’s sign off. This may take some time to reach all devices. Thank you for your patience as this rolls out to everyone and apologies for the inconvenience.

Last week there was a bug impacting how VoiceOver read text posts with a background image/color. These posts were read as “awesome-text-background.” We’ve deployed a fix which may take time to reach all devices. Thank you all for your patience and bringing this to our attention.
