“I need to find a use for this” cannot more perfectly describe the whole vibe around AI right now
One of the coolest in person demos at #wwdc26 was @lmstudio running massive local models on 4 daisy chained Mac Studios with a total of 2tb memory Then they pulled out an iPhone and chatted with those models remotely over a secure connection I need to find a use for this

Curaçao now have more World Cup goals since 2018 than Italy
Is Curacao being in the World Cup and Italy not, ultimately, a good thing?

Liberals are worried that Musk might use his “extreme concentration of wealth” to do what exactly? Explore space? Electrify automobile transportation? Advance free speech on digital platforms? What’s the threat here?

If Dario had invented the iPhone he would have spent the whole keynote talking about how it might blow up in your pocket
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

Tomorrow is a historic day for the Dutch left PvdA and GL merge into PRO In 2021, my friend @FvandeWolde started a movement (RoodGroen) to push for this merge. Step by step through motions, events, member consultations And I had the honour to help him together with many others

"What will happen to Europe if it keeps ignoring AI?" Three American labs each (!!) operate more AI compute than all of Europe combined. Today we're launching Europe 2031: a story of what might happen if that doesn't change.

It’s a cool paper with nifty econometrics. What makes me not entirely sold on it is the fact the early iPhone was really fancy, but it wasn’t the doomscrolling machine we know. The App Store was only introduced in 2008. Twitter wouldn’t release its official app until 2010.
"The authors didn't measure how many people in their study areas actually had iPhones...They just measured overall birth rates in areas with more or less AT&T mobile network coverage b/w 2007-2011." The latter is, I believe, a better metric.

Yeah it's obviously a terminal RPG nerd brain idea that you can just put enough points into charisma until you can't fail persuasion checks anymore
I'll lay down an A.I. marker (so that I can be proven wrong when Claude talks me into Daniel Dennet's theory of consciousness): I don't believe that "superintelligent at persuasion" will ever be a meaningful phenomenon. astralcodexten.com/p/my-ai-o…

Final project for a lot of ap calculus classes allows you to make a calculus song parody so there is a moment every year that a wave of amazing stupid math songs release.

L’assignment perfetto.
