Reports indicate that on 6 June, Li M. was filmed abusing a dog in Chongqing, China. The footage sparked widespread outrage and exposed allegations of a prolonged history of cruelty towards both cats and dogs. While tragic, the case has also prompted a rare public response, with local citizens within China openly condemning animal cruelty and calling for accountability. For sadistic cruelty as present in the cat torture networks, there is no excuse as to why there is no legislation protecting them. This latest response highlights that animal cruelty is no longer being publicly tolerated within China. We are continuing to advocate for the voices that need to be heard. #StopCatTortureInChina #FelineGuardians

A landmark sentencing for cat abuse victims. In Singapore, Ryan Tan Yi Bin has been jailed for 31 months for the serial abuse and killing of six cats. This case - highlighted by victims like Field Field - marks a major step in recognizing the severity of such crimes. The judge condemned the acts as “deplorable, sadistic and serial abuse,” calling them among the worst seen locally. A clear message: cruelty against defenseless animals will face serious consequences. We continue working to protect cats and push for stronger laws, including in regions where protections remain inadequate. We won’t stop until cat torture ends. 👉 felineguardians.org 🔗 Article: channelnewsasia.com/singapor… #JusticeForFelines #StopCatTorture #Singapore #FelineGuardians #StopCatTortureInChina

April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month! Established by the ASPCA in 2006, this month is dedicated to raising awareness about animal abuse, promoting compassion, and pushing for stronger protections for animals worldwide. Cats are among the most abused companion animals in the world, and the scale of organized online cruelty is far greater than most people realize: • Between May 2023 and May 2024, a video showing the torture and killing of a cat was uploaded to online Chinese abuse communities every 14 hours and 24 minutes on average. • In September 2023, the Chinese online cat torture network promoted a “100 cat kill” competition, encouraging members to quickly torture and kill 100 cats. Similar contests have been held every year since. • Feline Guardians investigative partner documented over 130 X accounts promoting cat abuse in just one month. This is not isolated. Animal abuse is strongly linked to other forms of violence, including domestic abuse and harm against children. This April we’ll be sharing facts, stories, and ways you can help throughout the month. So please join us in supporting the end of feline torture.

A Beijing court ruled in protection of 12 stray cats left caged in freezing conditions. Chinese volunteers rescued the cats who were left caged on an open sidewalk. The woman who kept them in the cages then sued the main rescuer, Ms. Luo, demanding the cats' return. The courts sided with the rescuers, stating the treatment of the cats violated public moral standards for animal welfare. It shows feline suffering can be legally recognized as morally reprehensible - largely in part to Chinese rescuers and citizens who spoke up. But it raises a critical question: if courts can protect cats in visible, condemned cases, why are organized cat torture networks still not being actively pursued? These abuses are documented, deliberate, and ongoing. If the law can step in for cats on a sidewalk, it can step in for cats enduring extreme cruelty for sadistic entertainment. The growing calls for stronger protections deserve to be heard. 👉 felineguardians.org #StopChinaCatTorture #StopCatTortureInChina #SaveCatsInChina #LegislationMatters #PushForProgress #VoiceForTheVoiceless #FelineGuardians

This is Xiáng - innocent and harmless. Yet subjected to extreme torture that would have made global headlines if the victim had been human. Yet in Mainland China, torture against cats and animals is legal. This goes beyond just "animal abuse". Online cat torture networks embody a culture of violence, sadism, and complete lack of empathy. This effects everyone and does spread into other serious and devastating crimes. We are committed to preventing suffering, and taking effective action for the protection of those who cannot defend themselves. 👉 felineguardians.org #StopCatTortureInChina #StopChinaCatTorture #EnoughIsEnough #FelineGuardians #CompassionMatters

For over a year, multiple homeless cats in Dongguan People’s Park (Guangdong, China) have suffered severe abuse; something seen across the whole province. Without anti-abuse laws for domestic animals, these attacks often go unpunished, leaving vulnerable cats and advocates with no support! Local volunteers have stepped up, taking cats for urgent cat & documenting the abuse, but reform is urgently needed. Homeless cats in Dongguan People’s Park, Guangdong, China, have been suffering severe abuse for over a year. Over 20 cats adopted by a man in Jiangsu, China within just two weeks are gone. Volunteers who checked his home found almost none of them. He claimed the cats “escaped” or were “released.” Only two were found - one with severe injuries: broken ribs, a ruptured lung, paralysis, and bloodshot eyes. Police only required him to write a letter promising not to adopt again. No fines. No arrest. No prosecution. The fate of the missing cats remains unknown. China urgently needs laws that explicitly ban animal abuse and torture. This cannot fall solely on ordinary citizens. #StopCatTortureInChina #SafeAdoption #StopTorture #EnoughIsEnough #FelineGuardians 👉 Learn more & take action: felineguardians.org/take-act… Sources: 🔗 finance.sina.com.cn/jjxw/202… 🔗 cj.sina.com.cn/articles/view…

On November 1st, videos from Qingyuan, Guangdong, China, showed hundreds or possibly over a thousand cats being "dumped" beside the Yingzui Reservoir. The people involved were allegedly reciting prayers as terrified cats scattered, many into the water, after being trapped in cages within two trucks. The footage went viral on Douyin and Weibo, sparking outrage and rapid volunteer mobilisation; rescue teams saved many cats within hours. The release event was dubbed “cruelty disguised as compassion”, which had left many cats dead, or left emaciated and exhausted. Officials opened an investigation only as the site is a protected water-source zone; not because hundreds of cats were abused and killed. Brave Chinese volunteers are continuing to care for survivors. #QingyuanRescue #StopCatCruelty #StopCatTortureInChina #LegislationMatters #FelineGuardians Sources: 🔗 news.sina.com.cn/s/2025-11-0… 🔗 zaobao.com.sg/realtime/china… 🔗 finance.sina.com.cn/jjxw/202… ------------------ 🔗 Visit felineguardians.org/take-act… to find out ways you can help and how to report any crimes to cats or animals!

The NYPD has arrested David Mosley, after he posted a graphic photo of a brutally tortured cat and claimed there would be another “live sacrifice” planned for Halloween. Mosley now faces multiple charges, including aggravated cruelty to animals - a crime taken seriously under New York law, where animal cruelty is recognized as a federal felony offense. Unlike in mainland China, where there is still no legislation protecting cats from extreme torture or abuse, New York’s laws and prompt arrest make it clear that individuals who torture and kill need to be stopped. We have chosen not to post Mosley’s photo, as he boasted that the attention - good or bad - made him “famous." Therefore, we decide to focus on the success of the police at this time, and in memory of the victim who suffered terribly and needlessly for twisted entertainment. #StopTorture #NYPD #FelineGuardians #Cat #StopCatTortureInChina @NYPD Sources: 🔗 newsweek.com/man-allegedly-p… 🔗 congress.gov/bill/116th-cong… ------------------ 📢 How can you help? 🔗 Visit felineguardians.org/take-act… to find out ways you can help and how to report any crimes to cats or animals!

This is Sebastian. A victim of the cat torture network. Unable to understand what happened to him, he tried to escape through the floor after being shot. Sebastian stayed in this state of fear and panic for over five long minutes before he eventually passed away. All the while his suffering was being filmed for it to be shared online. This isn't just a problem isolated in Mainland China, it affects everyone across the world and will continue to get worse unless there are lawful consequences. 📢 How can we help? One simple but meaningful step is to contact your local representatives. Share Sebastian's story. Ask for stronger laws and international cooperation to fight animal torture and online cruelty. We will not stop being the voice for victims like Sebastian until the law recognizes the seriousness of these crimes. #StopCatTortureInChina #StopTorture #FelineGuardians #Cat ------------------ 🔗 Visit felineguardians.org/take-act… to find out ways you can help and how to report any crimes to cats or animals!

This pixelated photo is of Lily. She endured unimaginable cruelty at the hands of cat torturers. Her limbs were nailed to a board while a gallon of acid was slowly poured over a her. All the while, the offenders were laughing. Those who commit such acts are not “just” animal abusers. They are serial offenders driven by violence and power, and their actions deserve to be treated with the same seriousness as other torturous murders. Yet in Mainland China, current laws fail to reflect the gravity of such cruelty. The consequences of this problem don’t stop there - the abuse circulates online, spreading its harm worldwide. 📢 How can we help? One simple but meaningful step is to contact your local representatives. Share Lily’s story. Ask for stronger laws and international cooperation to fight animal torture and online cruelty. Together, we can be the voice for victims like Lily. #StopCatTortureInChina #StopTorture #FelineGuardians #Cat ------------------ 🔗 Visit felineguardians.org/take-act… to find out ways you can help and how to report any crimes to cats or animals!

Black cats are highly intelligent, affectionate and playful, but they still face something called “black cat bias”: ⚫ Superstitions – Black cats are still linked with “bad luck.” ⚫ Harder to “read” – Many people incorrectly believe it’s more difficult to see black cats’ emotions or facial expressions, ⚫ Photography challenges – Black cats can be tricky to photograph, which is sadly a factor why they are the least popular to be adopted. In short, black cats are still misunderstood; but they are wonderful and amazing companions. #BlackCatAppreciationDay #FelineGuardians #Cats ------------------ 📢 How can you help? 🔗 Visit felineguardians.org/take-act… to find out ways you can help and how to report any crimes to cats or animals!

On August 9th, a dismembered cat’s body was deliberately placed in a feeding station for street cats. These feeding stations are live-streamed 24/7 and watched by many people, including children. This act reflects a deeply sadistic mindset: it is not only about inflicting extreme pain and suffering on the animal, but also about causing psychological harm to the surviving cats who visit the station, and to the viewers who witness it online. Mainland China urgently needs domestic animal protection laws: to not only protect cats, but humans also. We are committed to being a part of this change. #StopCatTortureInChina #EnoughIsEnough #LegislationMatters #FelineGuardians #StopChinaCatTorture ------------------ 📢 How can you help? 🔗 Visit felineguardians.org/take-act… to find out ways you can help and how to report any crimes to cats or animals!
