There's a fire in your heart. Only you can feel it. Only you can keep it alive.

It’s funny how there was a time when I couldn’t quite grasp what probabilities actually meant and now all I see is life filled with probabilistic events. A randomness factor, a degree of uncertainty over the future, and a constant balance of short-term and long-term thinking are what our brains are processing all day

Computer scientists are so good at problem-solving that they solved problem-solving in itself by creating artificial intelligence 😅 thus automating a lot of our own tasks (and many in general across fields), BUT enabling new ones to steer this powerful technology and tooling in an even more impactful way. I do reminisce about and will always enjoy the craft of manually writing code 🥲 (good thing is I can always do it for fun, and I think it still matters for hiring). However, I always carry the ability to reason through problems with logic, creativity and computational thinking which is so useful and I’m very thankful for it!

Am I the only one that feels like financial literacy is not part of the education system as much as it should be? I’ve had to and am still learning everything by myself pretty much

Be GOOD. Good at what you do, and a good person. The world needs both.

Since when did working 7 days per week become 'peak productivity'? *assuming this means working most hours 7 days per week*, I don't think this actually maximizes productivity - but maybe it does make you hate life (and reduce your lifespan as Laqua acknowledges)
"If you are not working 7 days per week, you are going to lose". Corgi Insurance is the most intense workplace culture in startups. - The company works 7 days per week. - Founder (@nico_laqua) lives and sleeps in the office. - He built a cafe in the office because there was no local cafe that was open 24/7. - 2/3 of the first 30 team members have the Corgi logo as a tattoo. Today I went behind the scenes with Nico, who has used this culture to scale the company to a $2.6BN valuation in just two years. My condensed notes below: 1. If You Are Not Working 7 Days Per Week, You Are Going to Lose: Whatever you can get done in 5 days, you'll get more done in 6 and 7. If you are trying to solve the world’s hardest problems, a standard 5-day workweek will not cut it. 2. Work Trials Repel the Mediocre: Corgi forces candidates into mock work trials over the weekend. If seeing a full office on a Saturday scares them, they don't belong. True intensity acts as a natural filter to attract killers and repel clock-watchers. 3. Lead from the Front Lines You can’t demand 7-day weeks while sitting on a yacht. Nico sleeps 3–4 hours a night on a mattress inside the office. If you want your troops to bleed, you have to be in the trenches with them. 4. Culture Only Means One Thing: Winning Forget superficial jargon like "hackers" or "ex-founders." Strip away the corporate fluff. A great startup culture is aggressively optimized around one single word: Winning. 5. Lifespan vs. Victories Building something world-historic requires radical sacrifice. When asked if he'd rather build a trillion-dollar company and die at 50, or fail and live to 80, the answer was easy. "I would rather measure my lifespan in victories." 6. Reject the Comfort of "Quiet Quitting." If you are operating in a hyper-growth environment and your days off happen to be Saturday and Sunday every single week, you are quiet quitting. To win, you must deliberately bypass the off-ramps of personal comfort and low volatility. Corgi isn't for everyone—and that’s exactly the point.

My favorite formula from Cal Newport: Work Accomplished = Time Spent x Intensity Two variables to adjust. Deep work, deliberate strategies, and skills that compound matter as much as, if not more than, raw hours. Also the only way to live a balanced life imo.

Found the setting, I think this is new. But 'fast' ain't fast enough. It might be that I can speak faster than I type, but read faster than I listen 🤔
today was my first time having a full voice conversation with Claude and I'm already looking for a playback speed setting. can't take 1x

Shoutout to some of the internet figures who shaped my education, thank you. @khanacademy: built my foundation and intuition in math and physics primarily @3blue1brown: the most intuitive calculus and linear algebra videos out there @DweckCarol: taught me the growth mindset @ProfCalNewport: deep work and deliberate strategies for studying effectively @karpathy: still learning about LLMs from him today

This is so exciting. Fingers crossed it works within my lifetime!
Following breakthrough results, we’re bringing longevity medicine to human trials. We’ve raised a $435M Series C led by @foundersfund to make it happen. Reprogramming cell age has the potential to create more healthy years for everyone. We're closer than ever to realizing it.

I remember back when I was starting my journey as a software engineer, the first thing that one of my TAs taught me was a bunch of computer shortcuts and their usefulness for speed and smoothness. The ability of your mind and your typing to sync up is beautiful. With AI and new hardware we're going on another level. I'm starting to see the power of voice AI but I feel like there's still plenty of room to go.

I have skipped too many workouts in my life because “I have to work”. But honestly I’m focusing on being very intentional and consistent with working out because it’s not only super fun and good for my health and wellbeing, but it is even an investment in my productivity at the end of the day
