don't worry so much about stereo in your lows. all the best arena rock ballads had massive stereo reverb on that kick

they aren’t just for atmosphere. they can be for anything. texture, percussion, to put you in a certain era or place. it could just mean something to the song, or the artist. they don’t need to impress on their own. their value can be in how they blend, how they're used, or why.
I absolutely can not stand field recordings in electronic music. I understand they have their uses but 90% of the time it’s just the artist trying to compensate for their lack of atmosphere. A lot of what people record is not that interesting to try and discern either.

instagram suggested reels of amateur musicians are so awesome. it's like the coming attractions for the next Catatonic Youths video

That fake dust album still the best thing I’ve heard so far this year

don't forget that despite how far technology has come with stem separation, it still sounds like absolute ass!!

maybe i’m missing something but this doesn't seem like a direct copy. more like 2 shirts drawing from a VERRRY common americana/workwear/motorcycle aesthetic tradition. blackletter fonts, eagles, vintage stamps, distressed print. IMO its just a coincidence.
cool that designers see my work on pinterest and think its okay to blatantly rip it off.. Hey @jimmyeatworld look familiar? Next time just hire me..

also keep in mind, illustrations like that eagle are often vintage stock illustrations & it's very easy to find the same exact ones on hundreds of different designs, or very, very similar ones due to referencing & tracing

these designs are very unoriginal, but that's perfectly fine, because that's the whole point. it's a very specific look both designers were going for. we've all seen it on southern rock album covers & bags of beef jerky & signs at midwestern breweries. we gotta let this one go

pshhhh i could do this any day. easily. if i practiced a lot.
Guitarists at home, you can shred like Corey Feldmanβ€¦πŸŽΈπŸ”₯ Step 1. First thing you have to do is crank your gain way too high, no noise gate. You want that feedback to singe your eardrums. Step 2. You don’t have to worry about which string you’re actually hitting, give them all love. Step 3. Combine the left-hand spider technique with those spastic guitar pick movements, and you get that perfect combination of pure shred. Step 4. Make facial expressions that match the spider and spastic guitar techniques.

i don't believe this about myself to any radical extent, but i think it has a lot to do with fear & comfort.
hate when ppl say they too old to like new music. U like new shows? New places to travel? New experiences? But u draw the line at music. Why?
