I’ve decided to leave @AnthropicAI Never thought I’d say this so soon. The pursuit of AGI has truly been my life’s work but something more important has emerged. In 1942, hundreds of America’s best scientists made huge sacrifices and joined the Manhattan Project to protect this nation against immense evil. Today, America faces a similar danger. Over the last few years sparks of AGI have been felt across the world. In order to protect this great nation against the threat of AGI ending up in the hands of evil, I have decided to join the modern day Manhattan Project. I’m excited to announce that I’ll be joining (and moving into the office) @UseCorgi as a sales development representative!

It takes us 1 day to migrate a customer’s data, but 6-12 months to actually fully transition them. The premise that defensibility has historically been about the data, and not the habits of hundreds or thousands of people in an organization, is mistaken. Systems of record maintain their moat until you no longer need humans to do any data entry or workflows at all

Introducing Slash Accounting Automation: The world’s fastest way to categorize expenses… To prove it to you I risked my life and free fell from 12,000 feet. Forever, finance teams have wasted 10 hours/mo on manual expense work. > Uploading receipts > Assigning categories > Matching transactions > Exporting to your ERP > Repeat 200x We built the world’s best accounting automation to kill this completely. 1. Auto-categorization catches transactions as they hit your account 2. Purchases are instantly tagged with your ERP properties 3. Batch approvals process 1,000s of entries in seconds, not hours Everything syncs directly to QuickBooks. > No CSV exports > No manual data entry > No reconciliation headaches Natalia processed an entire month of company expenses in under 60 seconds. That workflow used to take finance teams hours they don’t have.

I'm excited for what social media looks like in a post-scarcity society; without the advertising (and thus attention) incentives, I can see it returning to its roots of enabling genuine human connection

variant is actually incredible. I’ve been using it for the past few months to help visualize the vague designs/flows in my head, and almost all of them make it into production

going to be much more of this the next decade. teaching is shifting from "delivery of content" to "educational guide" there's already a huge battle in california underway over this: is the purpose of public education to educate or is it a jobs program?

but, when faced with questions like this where there's a direct conflict between teacher wellbeing and student outcomes, there is a simple imperative to prioritize student outcomes, and to find other ways to improve teacher wellbeing as a result.

(for what it's worth, the teachers I work with who fall much closer to the "educational guide" side of things, are very happy -- often much more happy than traditional teachers -- and find significant meaning in their work)

The obsessive hate from some parts of the VC community towards Palestinians is beyond insane. Why do they need to baselessly frame Palestinians in totally unrelated incidents? I suspect it’s to justify the mass child murder they’ve been cheering on in Gaza.

After months of inflammatory posts targeting Muslims and pro-Palestine activists, Sequoia Capital partner Shaun Maguire falsely accused a Palestinian student at Brown University of being responsible for the mass shooting at the University fastcompany.com/91463942/seq…

Here is @shaunmmaguire's now-deleted live video, in which he claims there is "very strong evidence" that Mustapha Kharbouch, a Palestinian Brown student, "likely" committed the murders of two Brown students. He treats Brown removing pages about Kharbouch as evidence of guilt, completely lost on him that this was a response to doxxing like his. He also falsely claims the slain MIT professor was Jewish and frames the killings as part of a history of "pro-Palestinian terrorism" that he says is supported by Mamdani. He closes by warning viewers that they "haven't been fed the true story," and, sadly, the people that are hurt the most are the "normal" Palestinians. (Credit to @JSweetLI for saving the video before he deleted it.)
Shaun Maguire posted a video rant accusing a queer pro-Palestine Brown student of being the shooter then quietly deleted it after Brown denied the claim. He’s making strong late-stage push for Biggest Disgrace of 2025.

the tides are shifting the modern tech industry is beginning to awaken to its influence on the world it is developing herd immunity against the diseases that lie within itself to present itself to the world at its best
Are you building something that is good for the world?

it is increasingly low-status to use your talents to build slop machines early stages of herd immunity
Two conversations this weekend make me think that there's a vibe shift afoot in Silicon Valley around what one should work on and what is worthwhile. Culturally, it feels like the moment is ripe for new frameworks: • Davos expert morality is stale and discredited. • It's also apparent that the "just be super based" Counter-Enlightenment is not really an answer. (Yes, woke went too far, but simply inverting it doesn't work.) • EA is no longer the automatic default for smart people. • There's increasing skepticism of slot and slop machine dynamics. Overall, "what is worthy and valuable?" feels like it's becoming more central.

startup founder status should be tied to how much good you’re doing, not just how much your company is worth need to make it socially unacceptable to found gambling companies

I asked Trae about his idea of choosing Good Hard Quests and his encouragement to founders to work on things that make the world better. "If we take all of our level 100 players and we put them on AI slop companies, what does that mean for all of the things that aren't being done at the same time? I would really like our level 100 wizards to be fabricating semiconductors, or something that's gonna move the needle for humanity."
