The CSIRO has been claiming for 7 years that solar and wind are the cheapest form of power. But how come electricity prices have skyrocketed the more we install solar and wind? Perhaps it's time we stopped taking the CSIRO's advice at face value. The CSIRO makes questionable assumptions and when you correct for these, coal is clearly the cheapest form of power in Australia. That doesn't mean we should be 100% coal. It just means we should have a sensible energy policy which allows all energy types to flourish.
