Confronting Gatwick’s greed and skulduggery; climate emergency = zero growth in aviation, anywhere. Manage demand with fair taxation, ignore Greta at your peril
Maybe its just me, but ears don't hear 'noise averaging metric contours' they hear the rumbling, thundering, whining result of regulatory capture and an industry that has gone feral.
A major new report from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), published 10th June 2026, has found that people get annoyed at much lower noise levels than previously thought. It backs up what residents have been saying for years.

Good gathering at Chew Valley School to hear about the pros & cons of airport expansion. Organised by BAAN and Stop Felton Common campaign groups.
Our research shows that @BristolAirport's perceived benefits are heavily outweighed by disadvantages to communities & environment.
As @ChadCeleste told the @CommonsEAC last year, aviation is not decarbonising fast enough, and other levers, such as carbon pricing, need to play a bigger role in the decarbonisation pathway. 3/3
