New paper with @yuchen_rachel is now out in JEP:General! @APA_Journals In both the US and China, children younger than age 7 provide leaders with more freedown to deviate, yet older children understand "One who wears the crown, bears the crown." psycnet.apa.org/record/2023-…
We finally finished data collection for one of my favorite grad school projects that was in a purgatorial limbo for 2.5 years due to covid. Words cannot express how thankful i am for the people involved in this project 🥺🥺🥰🥰❤️❤️
So excited to share a new @DeepMind paper (co-first-authored with @yiranmao) where we propose a method of evaluating human and AI moral cognition in a 'like-for-like' manner. Just by observing behavior, can we tell when an agent acts 'for the right reasons'? (1/7)
Do infants expect the world to be populated by objects and agents? @fransiscating argues that the architecture of innate knowledge is more complicated, showing that infants distinguish between agency, animacy, and self-propulsion. #spp2023
At 1.30pm, I will also present my work with @aartibodas, Lana Harfouche, and @DebKelemen on children's reasoning about disabilities and norm violations. This is my first project with children WHO ARE OLD ENOUGH TO TALK AND ACTUALLY ANSWER QUESTIONS!! 😍
This presentation will be part of a flash talk symposium with these amazing people @emg3r@yarrowdunham @DeutchmanPaul, Julia Marshall @XinYang_Kate, and Ragnhild Naas. #SRCD2023
Come check out our symposium this afternoon at 3.30! I'll give a talk on how infants reason about mean people and their groups.
@inderpreetkg, Luca Surian, and @atck618 will also present their 🔥🔥🔥 papers. #SRCD2023
Excited to present at #SRCD2023 tomorrow! Join me as I present our research with @levels_of on the early emergence of reasoning about multiple, mutually exclusive possible events and objects. See you at Meeting Room 259 at 10:00 am MDT! #futureorientedcognition@SRCDtweets
If you're at #SRCD23, please come and stop by, TODAY at 11.45!! I'm presenting some new data with @LinBian_ and Renée Baillargeon on how infants attribute inference-based knowledge and beliefs to others.
🥳 Reminder: our SRCD symposium is this Thursday at 11:45am, Floor 1, Grand Ballroom I! Come learn how infants and children infer what others know, and reason about the sources that surround them! With @fransiscating, @RambleCamble, @JennaAlton & @lucaspbutler!
Creating a sustainable society needs to be a priority, and my research aims to contribute to that task. At #SRCD2023 I will be presenting a talk and a poster about factors associated with children's concern about environmental harm 1/3
